let me preface by saying I've been cooking as long as I can remember.. even watched cooking shows before leaving for afternoon kindergarten...

do not, repeat, DO NOT begin baking after taking meds!

My first thanksgiving pie disaster.

4 eggs, whipped em up... no prob. Dump in the large can o pumpkin...hmmm, this doesn't look quite right, kinda runny.. but pushed on.

read recipe, carefully adding spices, double checking measurements..yeah, they're correct...why does this look so dark and runny? but pushed on.

add sugar, why is this so damn runny and splattering everywhere? check can for expiration date, date fine. notice can says "just add eggs and evaporated milk". hmm, they must've changed their recipe. double check my recipe- nope, , mine is the same: use large 29 oz can o pumpkin. WHY IS THIS SO DAMN DARK AND RUNNY???
It is THEN that I notice that this is NOT a can of PUMPKIN, this is a can of pumkin pie MIX! JUST ADD 2 EGGS AND MILK!!!! SHIT!!!!!! twice the eggs and spices that I need, and don't have enough pumpkin to balance it out, and no way to get any more.

Now I am attempting to make dinner rolls - be afraid, be very afraid.

Don't try to do 10 things at once and cook either ! I had a dentist apt and he did some major work which always leaves me stressed out........how barbaric they are......and face was totally numb includeing nose and eye but seem's part of my brain is too cuz I had a case of the dumbies. Ran to the store after my apt to grab a few things and had to stand in line.....back was killin me after havein to sit in that dam dentist chair bent backwards for over an hour....big no no.....was leanin on stuff standing in line to get out of the store. Got home and rushed to put stuff away and start some laundry. Brad gets home and sits on the couch watchin the tv turned up loud to counteract the washer and dryer in the next room. I start chili for dinner while doin laundry, keepin track of an arnry puppy and put stuff away and set things out to cook. While tryin to brown the beef and add stuff I hear 'water' pouring somewhere ?? I run to the next room and here the washer hose came off and the washer was emptyin bleach/detergent water spewing all over the floor and the washer and flipping around shooting across the small room onto clean and folded cloths includeing some of my favorite black jackets and pants !!! (bleach water......no no noooo !!) I reach to shut off the washer and grab the dog and move my dry clothes and run stuff that got bleach water onto it to the bathroom to RINSE as fast as I can so it doesn't turn bleached out gold and ruin'd !!!!!! Brad never did notice what was goin on and was sittina bout 10 foot from the washer room !!!!! So I am doin all that and tryin to add stuff to the chili to get it goin and grab HOT HOT HOTTTTT tomato sauce by accident to add. Then I forgot and added the entire bag of mix I wanted to try for a change in flavor and stlye.....opps......way way too much chili powder flavor.......oh gag !!!!!! I fineally put the dog in his crate and got Brad to look away from the tv and notice a DISASTER goin on around him to HELP PLEASE !!!!! He put the hose back on for me and thru clean dark towels onto the bleach mix all over the floor. (thanks alot) Ruin'd the chili cuz it was way too HOT with that sauce I added and way too overwhelming with chili powerd flavor cuz of too much of the mix. Am now rewashing clothes hopein they don't get spotted. Brad's still in front of the tv. I have a new rash and raw mouth from hot chili Pam :P

Awe it could be worse -- Got any sweet potatoes -- dump some in the pie mix and no one will notice the difference... just make two pies and betcha no one can tell any difference.

You oughta try my fruitcake -- gotta check the rum often to make sure it doesn't go bad!!!! Usually get carried out of the kitchen on that one....

If worse comes to worse (if you don't have any sweet potatoes) GO TO THE CAFERTERIA and BUY a damned pie.

I'm trying to decided if I want to put regular corn or jalepeno corn in my corn casserole (think I'll spice it up for the Henderson's this year).

Oh crap. I'm making my pies this morning. Now the power of suggestion will probably take over...

I bet if I drink, they'll turn out perfect. ;;D

Ah Hell, Jennifer....don't feel bad.

I just melted a plastic bowl of butter in the over....what a 'fockin' mess. The oven was just warm when I stuck it in there (needed melted butter for the pecan pie)....went about my business.....turned the oven on preheat for 375......well, you can guess the rest.

Can't blame it on booze or medication....guess I'm just turning into a dumba** in my old age....
