Title: Re: So BUMMED !!! Post by BlueMeanie on Nov 22nd, 2005, 5:29pm My wife's transmission went out on her Impala AFTER the warrenty expired. I told the garage to go ahead and fix it. Cost was to be around $2,200.00 The next day while the car was at the garage, a co-worker told me to call GM-Cares. I did, and they agreed, even though the transmission was not under warrenty, that all I had to pay was $500 deductable and they paid the rest. Not sure about Dodge, but you may want to check around if Dodge has some kind of program like that. |

Title: Re: So BUMMED !!! Post by BobG on Nov 22nd, 2005, 11:03pm Bummer Charlie. Transmission failed, huh? Must have hit the 60,000 mile mark. It's built in to Chrysler products. Hey cootie, hate the dental prices? My wife is an insurance specialist in a dentist office. She's says that gold crown you're getting for $700 cost the dentist about $14. The rest is labor and greed. |

Title: Re: So BUMMED !!! Post by jon019 on Nov 22nd, 2005, 11:47pm Hello, OK, I'll risk pissing everybody off. Yup, car repair, dentists, computers, plumbing, roofs, yadda, yadda, yadda, they are all rip offs. I've been a victim too.. Do have to say this tho. I am in a service business. Once got too tired of a customer who bitched about the price ceaselesly. Couldn't take it anymore and asked him, do you want it done right or do you want it done cheap? His immediate response: CHEAP. I told him, fine, when they screw it up, bring it back and we will fix it. He did, he had to, only didn't learn his lesson and kept doing cheap. They are out of business now. We, on the other hand, have been here for 28 years. There is some value in doing it right, and that $14 doesn't include overhead, skill or ability. Regards Jon |
