Oh God, don't remind me. I took a bath this morning and heard my husband turn the radio on in the bedroom to listen to while he folded clothes. Guess what was playing? Yup, that's right. My son is sitting out in the COLD woods as I sit in the warm house typing. Maybe he'll bring home winter meat (or pictures like he did last year!). At least he SAW something - just forgot to shoot it!!!! Thought I taught him better. We got our first freeze yesterday, but had a full moon last night, so the odds of getting one this morning are slim, but does he listen to MOM - hell NO! Thanksgiving weekend - that's when they'll be running....

Result: My son shot an 8pt. buck with a 15" spread! Nice deer.

Of course he wants to take it to the taxidermist.

Not bad for a kid, and I'm proud of him. He lives to hunt and fish.

I'm not sure who was happier, me or him.

Well, MY son showed Mama - he sat in the cold woods for three days and finally got a spike. (Bambi) At least we'll eat this winter.

Think he's going with his uncle again this weekend. Maybe THEN he'll get the BIG one.....

Congrats to your son -- get the darn thing mounted.... you get braggin' rights...

WTG Jimmers son!!

Hubby saw lots, but didn't want to shoot at any he saw. None were big enough. He will be shootin a doe though for us this weekend. Gotta get the freezer restocked! Burger, steaks, snack sticks and smoked ham. Yummmmmmy ;;D
