Title: proud momma Post by minnie on Nov 17th, 2005, 10:55pm I learned alot today about bravery. My 8 year old April had to go for 3 fillings first time, she also had two very loose, stubborn baby teeth pulled and she was so scared.she handled it like a trooper (all happy juiced up) but still the staff all said she had been the best patient there today.Their was a picture with birds on it in the waiting room ,she was trying her darndest to catch them as they started flying around [smiley=inlove.gif] kinda hard when you can barely hold your head up [smiley=crackup.gif] .Billy and I laughed and relized how much trouble we're in for.She giggled and kept saying " I like happy juice " just a little too much.It was a pediactric dentist so we sat in a special waiting room seeing all the kids (boys except April) trying to stay awake and fight it.they all lost in the end.Ha hAha sure does affect them all differently.will need some vibes real soon as she has to have a root canal.I know to some all this may not seem like a big deal but she's my baby and all I could think of was I wish it was me not her.I don't like seeing my baby have to go through this stuff :-[ Minnie |

Title: Re: proud momma Post by TxBasslady on Nov 17th, 2005, 11:00pm Those Pediatric Dentists are great!!! They really have a way with kids....my 5 yr old grandaughter went a couple weeks ago...she loved it!! Hell, I think when I need to go again, I'll choose the Pediatric Dentist for myself... ;;D J |

Title: Re: proud momma Post by Shaz on Nov 18th, 2005, 4:51am Glad April got through it ok. Know just how hard it is being a mum though. My lad has had teeth problems for about the last six years and has been in a lot of pain but tried to be brave. I just want to cry for him. He is now 15 and in the middle of having braces fitted. I have had to learn to be very brave now and let him go through whilst I sit in the waiting room. Even when they are big you still desperately want to hold their hand, but as Josh told me "its not cool at 15". Give April a hug from me and tell her well done Shaz [smiley=hug.gif] |

Title: Re: proud momma Post by BarbaraD on Nov 18th, 2005, 11:00am I wish they'd had those around when I was a kid. I still have a terrible fear of dentists. Usually takes a valium to get me in a dentist chair. Had one I could finally sit in his chair without medication and darned if he didn't have a stroke. Now it's back to the valium again..... Your little April is lucky to have a great dentist. Keep him..... Hugs BD |
