Title: Re: For those who are interested....(pics)... Post by Roxy on Nov 16th, 2005, 7:07pm I have one picture where the neighbors house ended up in this guys backyard. And again....that's not covered by homeowners. What is really sad is that all the homes look like that black muddy mess on the inside. Mold is taking on a whole new meaning down here. |

Title: Re: For those who are interested....(pics)... Post by cootie on Nov 17th, 2005, 8:10pm Those pics sure say alot !!!! More of an impact with the private pics taken it seems......is the reason insurence wouldn't pay at all on a house that got moved to anouther lot because they are looking at it as an act of god (how bogus) or is it cuz they had no flood ins ??? Would imagine people mite find some BAZAAR things that floated into there houses and stayed or died......that'd jus be tooooooo much to handle Pam |

Title: Re: For those who are interested....(pics)... Post by Roxy on Nov 18th, 2005, 8:58am What's amazing about these pictures, is that the next house is just as bad as the one you take a picture of. You can drive for miles, and miles....we drove for 1 1/2 hours....and this is all you see. Nothing open, doors to banks just hanging open, doors to everything hanging open, huge piles of trash, car lots just covered with grey cars....abolute total destruction. Finding a bathroom down here is the holy grail.... ;;D. Hey big guy.....how you doing? :-* Steve, we're still down the road, going to be eating Thanksgiving dinner out on picnic tables like the pilgrims....no days off for the wicked ;). A few of those pictures are Chalmette, Lakeview and Venetian Isles. Margi, I haven't worried too bad about breathing the mold because my head goes off everyday no matter what. It's the muck on the ground that bothers me. If you get it on yourself, anywhere, it is the most horrific smelling "gunk" you have ever smelled. One little spot in your truck, and you can't get the smell out. Coots, the house isn't covered by a homeowners policy because it wasn't put into the yard by a covered loss. If they were lucky enough to have flood insurance, it would be covered....if there is enough money left. Flood policies top out at $250,000. So if your house is worth $300,000, you're still only going to get $250,000. That amount also has to cover the gutting or bulldozing and then the rebuilding.....so it's not like they have the whole amount to just start rebuilding. And quite a few didn't carry flood insurance.
