I've heard of several people talking about it and useing it and how it sounds like the other person is in the next room. I don't know much about it or how it works but am sure that is the program people been sayin is cool. Hearsay Pam

Svenn uses it I think. I'm supposed to when I get the right hookup. Hopefully sometime this decade.

i use it now(the free download) and have used it before on my old p/c and hookup excellent facility to use for conferencing with up to 5 people and it dont cost a cent either!!!!! ;;D ;;D ;;D

I have it and I love it.. its brilliant. Lots of people here use it too, the call quality is as good as being on the phone (better sometimes!) and there is no delay, no "one person speaking at a time".. it is EXACTLY the same as being on the phone except its free!
Sounds too good to be true but it isn't.. grab it!

It doesn't just work... it isn't a scam. If you have the ability to 'support' yourself with something like this (most people can) then it is an excellent option. The quality of srevice is as good or better than the phone company.

Plus they even have a Linux Port, probably one for OS X too. We will have to see what will happen after they have been bought by Ebay. But I am hopeing for more not less.

Don't forget Skype also has encripted chat and file transfer.

Free, gratis, complimentary.

The sound is sometimes choppy when dialing Iceland, but, hey, Iceland sometimes gets bandwidth bottlenecks. Makes me long for the good ole days when it cost $1.67 a minute to talk across the ocean. Talk an hour, spend $100. Talk 6 hours and you could have flown there for the money. Yes, those were the days.

Yeah, free for now...

As more and more DSL and cable modem providers are starting to add their own (not-free) voice services, you will see them start to attempt to filter other services like Skype or even Vonage (it happens already). So, it's free for now, but it may be a struggle to keep it that way.

Yes, it's for real, and it works great. Get yerself a headset with a microphone. Get the kind that has 2 plugs. I've found this works much better than a USB headset. Sounds like yer in the same room together talking. Is a good chat client too, and it's encrypted. You can send up to 5 gig files over it.

I finally managed to get it running, after I learned that this friggin' computer wants a stereo plug for a mono microfone. What great logic :o

I heard myself talking on the 'test call'.

I dont have the things to make it work either....so I just went to a porn site and said "Fuck it"
