Title: Fresh Research: Tin Foil Hats
Post by floridian on Nov 10th, 2005, 6:17pm
Thought this might be of interest to many people here ... while aluminum foil weakens certain frequencies of radio waves, it actually increases the power of other frequencies.

http://people.csail.mit.edu/rahimi/helmet/

I guess these unexpected findings have totally derailed my research agenda for the next months ;)   Maybe it won't take long to develop a metal foil laminate that is much better than plain old Reynolds Wrap.

It's about time it was studied properly.
Empirical evidence will surely help the cause and get many proper treatment and better reception ;;D

Kinda like the Centurion myself.  Has a little more style.

And, Jonny, who was driving YOUR car while you snapped the pic????  ;;D

I still think we should all make our own Ch headbands like Dr. Dildo suggested.  We could decorate them to reflect our own personal fashion statement.  After all, they are made of metal are they not??   ;;D

She looks like she is wearing a Jiffy-Pop thing on her head.

So, the real story comes out!  Damned government.  I wonder if putting a coat of lead-based paint in between the layers would make it more effective?

Gator,

Lead is definitely at the top of candidate metals.  It is very absorbing and even the government admits it is good for blocking X-rays.  Gold is one of the most efficient reflectors - it is pricey, but can be pounded into very thin sheets (gold foil). Alchemically, it is logical that a combination of the most base and the most noble metals might be useful. I would also like to use an element like Neodymium or Tellurium, just because of the sound of those words.

PS: why do you think that you can't buy lead paint anymore??

The research was done on aluminum foil, not tin foil. I bet a true tin foil hat will work much better. And don't forget for a true blocking you need to have a wire running down to a ground strap you drag.

Ah ... what the hey .... Rex brings laughter into our lifes and and as scary as he can be, I wouldn't want a better friend! (Even if he is insane and should be seeing the psyhologists as well  [smiley=laugh.gif])

Dave, these pictures are over a year old. I made them when I had to work on this UFO and Aliens website.

I was only protecting myself from possible abductees with whom I had to communicate via email.

Yes, foil is a conductor, but the goal is to create a short in order to scramble unauthorized incoming transmissions.
It works wonders for CH attacks as well as chewing gum.
(See "Amazing cure for CH" in the med section)

But to jump to conclusions and declare me insane based on proper usage of effective protection equipment is a stretch and an insult. I'm hurt.... :-[

You're jealous because you know I get HBO with my TF hat and you don't! And for the last time... NO! I'm not hooking up TIVO to the hat and record all your favorite soap operas! So there!

Rexy, you and Jonny must play nice with the newbies!  The old man with the beard and long hair, his name starts with a U and he's watching, is the only one that can hit harder than CH, so we all try to keep in his good books but still... sometimes newbies get frightened by your over protectiveness.

I'm allright with the Big Brother theory but still play nice, first give a situation time to develop.  A few years back, for those who can remember, I came in proclaiming that beta blockers were MY cure but then again we were not that cynical yet.  Btw my beta blockers didn't work for much longer than that week.

Now slam me, I'm a girl that can take it, I'm wide open ;)

Maybe I must get myself another cat [smiley=sgrin.gif]

I always play nice with newbies as long as they play nice with us...
But when the title of their very first posts includes these words "AMAZING CURE" and to find out it's about chewing gum.....

I'm not protecting all of us who've been here a long time and know better. I'm protecting newbies looking for help in the med section and have to read this crap.

If this is the first post they read, do you think they're gonna take us seriously?

Hey, if someone wants to make a joke about "THE CURE" as it has happened before, fine! Do it in the general or funnies section. Leave the med section alone please!

But Jasmyn, if you want to be a troll attorney, there's work out there for you!  ;)

Rexy, my darling, I don't usually voice my ever so critical opinion, I'm like the Cheshire cat, so I won't make a good anything as my advise usually doesn't make any sense, even to myself.

I just think, on the other side of the coin, if newbies see that word phrasing can result in such a sticky beating (even if it is about gum) they may just run for their lifes.

He tried to explain himself... we'll see if he ever returns?

Logic doesn't always come into the CH equation.

I've posted an article to OUCH but I'll send it to you so that you can see how warped the CH mind can be and it is based on actual events in my stupid life. ;)
