Title: Lost my rings!
Post by Karla on Nov 7th, 2005, 4:19pm
I lost my engagement ring along with my wedding band while on an outside hike.  I knew it needed to be resized but I procrastinated doing that.  Stupid me! :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

I doubt I will get a replacement.  I had a set and Ted had a ring that belonged to his Greatgrandfather.  That got stolen after a couple of years of marriage.  Then we bought just cheap bands to wear and he lost his the first week because he hadn't taken it in to have it resized yet.  Now after 21 years I lost my set.

I get this feeling that we aren't suppose to have rings. :'( :'(

Are you sure you checked everywhere including the bottom of your purse?  I have a couple of loose rings and that is where they usually end up.

If you are sure you lost them outside and know the general vicinity, it might be worth borrowing a metal detector and retracing your steps.

Hope you find them...

I lost all mine........so I don't bother with expensive wedding ring stuff.......I wear rings when we go out and that is about it. My fingers will swell and shrink and loose stuff I had a terrible time gettin on in the first place.....wierd. So I never asked for a new one but I do have a nice one I am afraid to wear left I got for Xmas that is diamonds and jade narrow band. Ya don't have to wear it to prove it Pam

Great idea.  I called a local rental company and am renting a metal detector to see if I can find it outside on Sat.  I was told they already vacumed the inside area and cleaned the place.  So hopefully the metal detector will turn up something!  Great idea!  Thanks.

well I rented a metal detector and spent several hours going over a piece of land.  No sign of my rings. :'( :'(
Well I guess it is time for new ones.  Maybe I'll get lucky at christmas time.

I'm so sorry to hear about this!

I'm one of those whose fingers keep getting bigger, even though the rest of me isn't.  I had to have mnor surgery a couple years ago, and they nearly had to amputate my finger to get those damned rings off!

I'm not making light - I can't imagine losing my wedding rings.  This might sound stupid, but is there a reliable psychic were you live?  Sometimes they come up with astounding insights.  Not a joke - my grandmother found her rings that way.

Just a thought from someone who's also been married a long time.

Kris
