I always loved names like max......tommy......tonk......tigger (like the winnie the pooh character cat). Ilike gizmo too tho !! I used a citrus spray for biteing on stuff like cords. Cats hate citrus. They sell it in the car dept at stores called 'ultra citrus or absolutely orange citrus'. Smells decent too and is supposed to be 100 % citrus (yeah rite) and comes in a pump spray. I spray it on a rag and wipe the cord......no matter what ya use ya gotta do it every few days cuz bad habits are hard to break and all he is doing is 'teething' but he will blow his little teeth out if he bites thru !!!! (bad scene) Now I noticed the pet stores sell the spray.....doesn't cost that much either. The bitter apple mite work too but alot of that stuff leaves things STICKY and gross after a while. And I have had problems in my kennel with dogs likeing it and lickeing it then when cleaned up they go deeper into chewing !!! Hot stuff can work too but I rather deter' them from gettin close enuff to start to chew with the citrus then actually find out while chewing. Cats that go ZAP in the nite Pam He is so cute !!!!!!!!!! :) |

Title: Re: My New Kitten Post by Lizzie2 on Nov 5th, 2005, 9:55am Well...the day I got him, my brother named him Tony (for Tony the Tiger and also for a childhood neighbor of ours named Tony who had a cat we used to torment...LOL) I decided last night that I'm going back to Tony. Gizmo fits him now, but I think he'll grow out of it. Tony will still fit him when he gets bigger. I got home from work and the bathroom reeked (where he stayed all night) I did a pretty good job of cat-proofing it, although I did notice some tracked litter a few feet up the shower curtain. I'm curious to know how far up it he got before falling on his head. LOL There was litter tracked on the floor and on the rug...stuck in. The bathroom rugs are all in the dryer downstairs right now. I decontaminated the bathroom with the window open and a lot of cleaning supplies. I tried to get the stuck litter and poop out of his feet as best I could, but I've definitely decided this is not a good litter even though the pet store recommended it. I've gotta ask them how I can get it all out of his paws... :( I was using Ever Clean Low Track Clumping litter...but I've gotta ask the vet for a new recommendation! I have the feeling that I'm going to be going through household cleaning products like mad! We're off to the vet here shortly, and I've got a slew of questions to ask them. :) More kitty stories to come, I'm sure! Lizzie :) |

I had to laugh when I read your list of names and came across Gizmo - thought that I was the only one crazy enough to think of a name like that! ;;D We have a black cat, with white, and that is his name (Gizmo)... took me almost a week to think of them name and it definetly fits hit! And he is a year and a half... Just wanted to add that before ya change the name - I wanted something different and that had some spunk (cant think of another word) - just like my cat! Jill |
