Title: How many times has this happend 2 U? Post by mynm156 on Oct 31st, 2005, 8:51pm So there I was at T minus ALREADY DARK AND NO CANDY and mosters punding on my door, running up to the store and just happen to have on my Clusterheadache.com shirt. Well this NICE old man starts telling me how he gets these too and as he goes on and on I pleasantly say I dont think that thoses are Clusterheadaches and its like GAME ON baby. He just starts in on how terrible these are and he can hardly do anything when he gets them he just has to lay down and sleep. (MEEGRAN ANYBODY???) anyway, WOW you would have thought I RAPED his daughter he was SOOO SURE of his TERRIBLE headaches. Far be it from me to EVER doubt the ability of a HEADACHE to ruin someones day/life but GEEZE . Sorry I was just wishing I had a BUCK for everytime someone challenges THE BEAST we all love so well. Happy All Hallows Eve my brothers and sisters in pain! mynm156 |

Title: Re: How many times has this happend 2 U? Post by DennyM on Nov 1st, 2005, 12:43am Happened t'other way about to me. Sinuses were being aggravated by some stuff the air-con people had put into the system at work, so took myself off to a pharmacy to get some over-the-counter anti-hystamines. The pharmacist insisted on a detailed description of watery eye and runny nose and then tried to tell me I was probably suffering from from Clusterheadache. Picked the wrong person didn't she? Needless to say, the poor girl copped an earful along the lines of how I live with a CH sufferer and no dear, this was most definitely NOT what was ailing me. I imagine the only reason she'd even heard of CH was because she'd once filled a script for Brian! |

Title: Re: How many times has this happend 2 U? Post by Jimmy B. on Nov 1st, 2005, 9:33am I've had this happen numerous times...mostly where I work. There is just no way, someone who doesn't get CH, can appreciate the intense pain that we go through, unless they are very close to us...and even then it's tough to comprehend. I've also learned that people use pain as a "Badge of Courage" and their pain is always worse then someone else's... I always try to educate the person...but if they're giving me the my tension headaches are so bad, I have to lie down, speech...I'll just ignore them. |

Title: Re: How many times has this happend 2 U? Post by AussieBrian on Nov 1st, 2005, 10:30am Never to diminish what our pain means to us, I've recently heard a couple of delightful descriptions of the joys of child-birth. "Try snorting a water melon out of your nostril." "Gentlemen, take your upper lip between thumb and forefinger of each hand and start to squeeze. Squeeze harder. Now squeeze much, much harder still. Very good. Now, pull your upper lip over the top of your head ...." |
