Title: Update Post by juvy on Oct 29th, 2005, 5:25am Hope everyone is doing well. I want to thank everyone for their vibes. They may very well have saved a little girls life. :) Yesterday, my neice went into shock and started having seizures. She stopped breathing twice and the second time the Drs were afraid they weren't going to get her back. Just as they were going to put her on a respirator, she opened her eyes and started breathing again. Her right side was paralyzed but she's slowly regaining use of it again. They'll do an MRI today to check for any long term damage. She refuses to sleep and blames herself for the death of her new kitten. She says if she had not asked for one for her birthday, he'd be with another family and still alive. Today she's eleven, and we're trying to think of ways to make her birthday special and take her mind off things. My sister said she thought watching her life go up in flames was the worst thing she'd ever witnessed but was proved wrong when she had to watch her daughter crash twice. It's going to be a long road to getting everything back but we'll do it. The Austin community has been wonderful. We're truly amazed at the kindness of strangers. People my sister doesn't even know call regularly to check on Kae's condition. They were driving by when they saw the fire and stopped to help. They've been checking on the family every since. It's hard being so far away. I can't reach out and touch them to assure myself everyone is fine. I hate not being there. Hopefully the baby will arrive on time and we can go for Christmas. Hope everyone has a pain free weekend...I've stressed myself out so much the Beast has decided to toy with me. It's just a few irritating shadows so I'll try to keep him busy for you. April |
