Title: Re: Things that happened on October 24th Post by Ueli on Oct 24th, 2005, 9:01pm I found on the web Jane Seymour was born on February 15, 1951. How can she have died almost 500 years ago? Are Lassell and William Lassell the same person? If yes, why did it take 5 years to discover the Uranus moons? If no, who do we credit for the discovery, (no Christian name) Lassell or William Lassell? ;;D ;;D ;;D Ueli |

Ariel ("AIR ee el") is the twelfth of Uranus's known satellites. Ariel is a mischievous airy spirit in Shakespeare's The Tempest. Ariel was discovered by William Lassell in 1851. Umbriel ("UM bree el") is the thirteenth of Uranus's known satellites and the third largest: Umbriel is a character in Alexander Pope's The Rape of the Lock. Umbriel was discovered in 1851 by William Lassell. nineplanets.org Ueli, I was looking for info I just read about the 1960 event and couldn't find it, so, your question was easier. :) |
