Title: My Daughter is home, updated pg 2
Post by Opus on Oct 21st, 2005, 5:13pm
Amanda was well enought to come home, but not for school for at least a week. I got the furnace fixed today, so be looking out for a heat wave.

My wife was rearended by her mother,, and got bad whiplash, so more prayers needed. She hasn't been seen yet, but it ussually takes her a month to recover.

Thanks all,

Wife is doing better, she is home now, but the pain isn't to bad. What makes it the hardest is that it was done by here own mother.

Geez Paul - you sure are having a week of it at your house.  Perhaps now the good luck folks will visit for a while.

Your wife will likely feel worse tomorrow if it is a whiplash.  They seem to take a day or to to settle in.

Glad to hear Amanda's home now though.

Take care
Carol

Whiplash sucks.  I got it myself 15 years ago and STILL have recurrent problems where my neck freezes and I can't move my head to the left.  Sorry to hear about all this Paul.

hugs,
mel

HOPE things are gettin better around your house Paul and more back to normal.......yeah I know.....what is NORMAL rite ? I had a severe case of whiplash when in high school and got t-boned while mom was takein me to the bus stop. Got hit hard on my side totalling the car. Took a few hours but my back and entire spine froze up for 3 months. Mom wouldn't let me go to the doctor even tho I was crying and in SEVERE pain and in bad shape the entire duration. She said everyone was claiming whiplash back then and she didn't want anyone to think she would be that way.....huh ?? I'm payin for alot of that now left untreated even tho I dunno what they do for it exactly. I know the spine is jolted so hard it stretches ligaments and can cause a painful imbalance. Then even tho it appears to heal it comes back to haunt ya when older cuz it was stretched out and never 100 % but with age it gives out. Does that sound rite ? That's what my doc told me in no uncertain terms. So "take care of it now".......it jus added to my list of stunt women feats Pam

Bummer she got hit by her mom......were they going very fast ? Betcha maw feels bad ech ?

Paul,

Glad Amanda is home and sorry to hear of the car accident!  I guess when I had my neck sprain from the skating accident, I had a whiplash of sorts because of my head snapping forward as it hit the ice.  Hurt like hell.  Although in that case, my head hurt worse since I had a concussion from the bad fall.  I went to PT for awhile after it and got several nerve block shots in my neck, and eventually it did get better, and I actually have better mobility now that I'm not really playing piano  as much.  But I'm with Mel on the fact that it comes back to haunt sometimes...  Wednesday night, I turned my head to the right and felt something pull in my neck.  Hurt a good long while, although heat helps.

Hope you have some good luck heading your way soon!!

Carrie :)

LOL No Pam I don't want that!!  I already have that in my knees now that I have the AVN and arthritis.  Before I found out the surgery had failed, I wasn't quite as nervous about those pops...now every time I feel and hear them, I feel like my knees are just moving towards collapsing!  Scares me!

Usually? Her mother has done this before?

Thanks all,
Let me clear up some confusion. My wife came home from the ER Friday night. She says she is bad but to me she is doing well. She first got whiplash when she T-boned a car that pulled in front of her. Since then she has re-injured her neck many times when I have been rear ended because I have a  bad habit of stopping for red lights and stop signs.
