Title: See the red star?

That's where I live.  Best seen if you zoom in at level 4.   Just west of North Port and about 2 miles from the ocean.  Charlie leveled Port Charlotte last fall.

Here we go again!  Another strong hurricane headed for the west coast of Florida and just about in my area.

Where are the rest of you Floridians?

Please stay safe.  Evacuate early.  It's projeted to hit around 8 pm Saturday.  It's a strong Cat. 5 at 882 mb, but expected to weaken to about a 3 before landfall.  By the way, 882 mb's is the very lowest in recorded history.  The eye is tight and small so maybe it will make a very little path.  They say about 50 miles in all directions from the eye.

Edited for correct placement of fingers.  What do you expect from a "Drama Queen"?

Jolene's got all the cages out of the shed and ready, she is going and getting a few supplies that we don't have, but we got plenty of food and water for us and the animals, We even have access to an Ice Machine.

We will be prepared the best we can, it just sucks with the power situation, if you sneeze in or around my house to power goes out, so will will be offline for a few days I am sure.. Anyone wants our Cell Numbers, just PM me and I'll give them to ya...

Mike & Helen & a few others have are cell numbers also..

Gotta go will be back on again after work and getting the Plywood on the windows..

God Bless Ya's

I just went to get prescription refills and such (at about 5:00) and every gas station around here is already out of gas.  I  pumped $1.05 and they all quit.  Everybody was yelling.....Hey, did yours shut down?  Yep.

They say we'll get another delivery around here tomorrow.  Fingers crossed.

Fill up now if you can.

Charlie can you get those emergency phone chargers? The battery ones? Or do you have a in car phone charger? Make sure those buggers are on full battery just to be on the safe side and don't you think I won't be calling either!
I'll try to make it at civilised times though eh?!  ::)

Please, please, please be safe!!! Vibes to you. I hope you make it through the hurricane. I hope my brother isn't dumb enough to stand outside in it.  :-/

These super-storms are crazy!

Did you know if every factory in the world shut down for two days our ozone layer would be fixed (temporarily of corse). We discussed it in Chemistry.

Well we are hoping this thing continues to weaken, but it a weird storm, just like all the others... last night the winds were down to 140mph, then early this am they were back to 150mph, now they are saying that they are down to 130mph... Who knows...

Once it hits the open waters of the Gulf, I am sure that this thing will get stronger... They changed the time it will be hitting to sunday or monday sometime.. which sucks, we are supposed to start moving the machines from my work on mon & tues...

Well will try to keep everyone up to date...

God Bless
Charlie

Just heard the latest news at 11:00 am a few minutes ago (Daylight Savings Time, still) and it is back up to a cat. 4 with expectations of hitting around Ft. Myers late Sunday.

I called work as I'm supposed to work Sat., Sun., and Mon., to ask them if, like all other hospitals in our area, we were allowed to bring our caged pets with us when we are in lock down for maybe 2 days or more and I was told "NO".  They were having another meeting this afternoon to fine tune emergency proceedures and I told my boss that I, and a lot of others, wouldn't be showing up beyond Saturday night.  I'm not leaving my Polly behind.  I'll find another job first.

There's a great shelter at the new North Port high school that will tolerate (supposidly) a cat. 5 and that's where we'll be.

Praying for all.

I don't blame you Donna, we have the same thing here in B'ton.. one of the Shelters has a pet friendly room, if you want to bring your pets, just need the shot records and Food for them... thats why we got all the cages..

If it hits Ft.myer's I am sure we will get the rough stuff, we only live 90miles from there..

Donna how are you doing ? Are you ok where you are ?

Let us know whats up...

Praying for all in the path AGAIN...

God Bless
Charlie

Donna, I was talking to Jolene, we have the Apt out back if you need to leave your home, that way you do not have to go to a Shelter...

Its not the Hilton, but its pretty nice, got A/C and a Queen bed, Cable TV.. everything you would need for a few days except food... Pets welcome..

You are welcome to it if you need it, I don't want to see anyone have to go to a Shelter, unless its last resort...

I'll PM you our Phone #'s.. Just Call.. ok?

Stay Safe & God Bless
Charlie

The 8 pm advisory just came out. Still Cat 4, expected to reach Cat 5 again before it hits Yucatan in Mexico. It now looks like it will be down to "only" Cat 2 when it hits FLA.

I'm on the east coast, in Hollywood, and I'm getting ready anyway.
