Title: Computer question
Post by kimmiedawn81 on Oct 15th, 2005, 11:54am
Hey, I have saved something on my computer and I would like to post it here in the Funnies....how do I do it?

That depends on what it is. If it is text, cut and paste into your post. If it is a picyure, it needs to currently exit on a website where you place the properties of the picture [http:\\mywebshot\tom\xxxx] between the URL tags of your post.
For example, to post this picture of Renee and me from my website, I took the properties of the picture and selected the 'Insert Picture' icon--the frame pic icon--and pasted the address to my pic.http://mysite.verizon.net/vze6mqbc/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/.pond/trfinn40th2.jpg.w300h225.jpg
Does that help?
Tom

Edit to note: ask Paul G or Jonny for free websites that will host pics.

It's not a pic, it's a link, but I have no website for it....it's weird.

The use the 'globe' type icon--2nd row, 2nd from the left to post the link. Put the link between the tags.

Kimmiedawn,

[url*]the website address[/url]
remove the *
A website can have an address like http://ebay.com
or an IP adress like http://127.0.0.1

Hope this helps.

Don't listen to them...

If it's a website link like http://www.google.com/ just type it out... If you type it with the http:// the board with create a link automatically.  If you don't type the http:// then we'd just have to copy and paste it into out address bars.

If it's a shortcut on your desktop to a website, click it to go to the website, then copy the address from the address bar of your browser and paste it into your post.

If it's something else, then don't listen to me either.  :P

Don't listen to him.
Just pasting a url into a post if it is long can cause the page to stretch making it hard for everyone to read. Using the url tags will stop this from happening. Many people use the tiny-url site to do the same thing, but it is unnecessary.
