Can you try a computer with a diffrent Operating system? I test by booting into Knoppix. (http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html) I use 3.9 becouse it is all on one CD. Opus/Paul |

Title: Re: Google & Yahoo problems..???? Post by jcmquix on Oct 8th, 2005, 8:24am Hi All.. Went online again last night and went into chat with a tech from Road Runner... I found out a few interesting things... #1 Goggle & Yahoo were attacked last week by hackers and have had problems all week long... #2 This problem spread to almost 3/4 of the internet, 100% of Road Runner went down 3 times last week. #3 This was causing people to download bad updates in all kinds of software... So anyhow, ran all my spyware programs last night, ran virus programs, left everything off all night, including the modems.... This morning all is zipping along now... So I guess I'll see what happens... I told the tech from Road Runner last night that I was not paying our bill until the deal is worked out, I don't care if they turn us off, I am not paying for a service that does not work. God Bless & PFDAN Charlie |

Title: Re: Google & Yahoo problems..???? Post by Sandy_C on Oct 8th, 2005, 10:10am Bill, that article was incedible! We are all paying through the nose for internet access to our providers, and then you get two feuding companies that throw a monkeywrench into the whole shebang! Maybe, like Charlie said, if we are experiencing problems (which, so far, I am not), we should just refuse to pay for those days we cannot access the net. Hitting them in their pocketbooks might be the quickest solution, because from the article, this could go on forever. >:( Sandy |

Yup, our tech people at work were talking about that over the past few days. I have had intermittent problems finding websites both at work and at home. |

Title: Re: Google & Yahoo problems..???? Post by jcmquix on Oct 8th, 2005, 4:14pm Well all seems to be working well... Road Runner still having of alot of problems with their servers, was told that they all re-routing all traffic and resetting all servers. They said it will take about 1 week to reset and restart all their servers... Was told its fixed on my end, and that I will not have any problems... But as Sandy said, if the problem persist, I am not going to pay them, then when they call I am going to say.. oh yeah the checks in the mail... when it gets back on line.. :) God Bless Charlie |
