Ever heard the band COLD? I discovered them a few years ago when their 2nd disc came out. They just released their 4th disc "A Different Kind of Pain" I have only heard a couple of tracks from, but sounds great. The last album "Year of The Spider" is phenomenal. You might want to check them out. Peace, Mack |

Title: Re: So, What'cha Listening To THIS Week? Post by Carl_D on Sep 29th, 2005, 5:51pm Thanks Jonny. I love these guys. They remind me of a darker version of Staind. When I was in Act of God, I drove my bass player nuts with listening to "Year of The Spider" over and over. Mack |

Title: Re: So, What'cha Listening To THIS Week? Post by jimmers on Sep 29th, 2005, 7:10pm For some odd reason, I'm in a Dean Martin and Sinatra mood. Any of their songs work for me. Tomorrow who knows it could be VanHalen, AC-DC, some old Molly Hatchet. I'm all over the map I guess. Seeya, Jimmers |

Title: Re: So, What'cha Listening To THIS Week? Post by vietvet2tours on Sep 30th, 2005, 8:48am Sam Stone ©John Prine Sam Stone came home, To his wife and family After serving in the conflict overseas. And the time that he served, Had shattered all his nerves, And left a little shrapnel in his knee. But the morphine eased the pain, And the grass grew round his brain, And gave him all the confidence he lacked, With a Purple Heart and a monkey on his back. Chorus: There's a hole in daddy's arm where all the money goes, Jesus Christ died for nothin' I suppose. Little pitchers have big ears, Don't stop to count the years, Sweet songs never last too long on broken radios. Mmm.... Sam Stone's welcome home Didn't last too long. He went to work when he'd spent his last dime And Sammy took to stealing When he got that empty feeling For a hundred dollar habit without overtime. And the gold rolled through his veins Like a thousand railroad trains, And eased his mind in the hours that he chose, While the kids ran around wearin' other peoples' clothes... Repeat Chorus: Sam Stone was alone When he popped his last balloon Climbing walls while sitting in a chair Well, he played his last request While the room smelled just like death With an overdose hovering in the air But life had lost its fun And there was nothing to be done But trade his house that he bought on the G. I. Bill For a flag draped casket on a local heroes' hill. Repeat |

Title: Re: So, What'cha Listening To THIS Week? Post by cootie on Sep 30th, 2005, 11:35am Frampton used to play in Ohio at the Agora........seems to me one of his live records and video is from there !!!! I was supposed to go see him but chicken'd out.....got there and was with a boyfriend but was too high to handle the people.....(long long long time ago and....I didn't drink back then either)........so we split. He was there several times.......now it's the Boot Scootin Boogie bar. What a disgrace ! Went with the inlaws once for the mother in laws birthday and they pack the place with kids up to adults. But if ya don't line dance with the crowd and know EVERY SINGLE STEP they will escort you OFF the dance floor. No free style danceing. (I was only there cuz I had to go for family event......wasn't my typea deal). Framton and his talking guitar Pam |

Title: Re: So, What'cha Listening To THIS Week? Post by Carl_D on Sep 30th, 2005, 8:16pm This morning I listened to one of the most beautiful new albums I have heard in a long while. The band is called Aqualung and the disc is called Strange and Beautiful and it is really abient, beautiful piano and the songs range from a slow, jazzy soft feel, to a couple of songs that remind me of Sir Paul back in the WINGS days. I HIGHLY recommend this disc to fans of The Beatles, Coldplay and a softer Rufus Wainwright. All day walking I listened to the following MD's: My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge Slayer - Reign In Blood COLD - Cold Cuts Compilation (Had to hear it again after hearing some oif the new album I just got done listening to the Scissor Sisters disc, and so I am going to play a couple of songs on the acoustic to warm up my voice. Seems it has been in exile for so long, me needs to practice bigtime. The voice is like any muscle, if you don't use it you lose it. So, doing scales, and working out some new tunes as well as belting out old ones. I'll be in chat later if anyone is up for some. Oh, and the friday funnies will be posted tomorrow, as it takes alot of time to put together, and my brain was so scrambled last night as I poured through dumb joke after joke - I couldn't tell what was funny or not funny. So, there will be a TGIF late edition. ;) Mack Danger |

Title: Re: So, What'cha Listening To THIS Week? Post by cootie on Sep 30th, 2005, 8:44pm Jethro Tull did a song called Agualung.......used to listen to alot of them and Uriah Heep and Black Sabbath....King Crimson, Moody Blues, Crosby Stills and Nash, Janice Joplin, Hendrix, Proco Hareim, The Cream did some good stuff too. We used to sit around a smoke filled freinds garage or room and BLAST them albums and then goof on each other. Oh and the motion lights that went with the music were cool and black lights with the glowing posters. Man we smoked alot of pot in them days......(I didn't drink at all)......life was simpler tho back then. Lots of good memories of it all. Funny how ya hear a song and it ALL comes back to ya like some sort of MOOD swing. Make love not war Pam |
