Since the day I heard "Blizzard of Ozz" I have been a Randy Rhoads freak and being a Jackson man, I always wanted one of these. Some people don't realize that the only reason Jackson guitars became a big deal is because Randy worked with the luthier to create the shark fin guitar, long before he made it famous with Ozzy Osbourne. After the exposure of him playing in Ozzy, Jackson guitars became the guitar to have. A friend bought a cheaper version, but this is the real deal.

I can't find a pic of the type I got. It is a Jackson Stealth custom with dbl locking Floyd Rose and is metal flake black. The thing is the sweetest axe I've ever played. Once I get a pic of that monster I'll have to post it on here. Lets just say, everyone who plays the thing wants it.

Nice... I used to have an Ibanez that was that color, Thomas. All rounded edges and all black gear. That guitar was pretty, just to LOOK at, and it played like silk... :)

Here's my amp posing with my 1993 SG.

It's a 1980 MKII lead head with a early 1980s JCM800 cabinet.

I bought the head brand new and I'll have it till the day I die. It goes to 11. ;;D

I don't know... I had a Fender Twin Reverb that sounded pretty damn sweet. Nothing beats a tube amp. :)

I don't have anything at all against the old twins (Can you say Ted Nugent? ) but I'd still take one Marshall over a truck load of twins.

I don't really have any experience with Marshalls... The stage amp was a Roland, and it wasn't too bad.

(Dammit... I promised I wouldn't get back into guitars... Must. Resist... Arrrrrrrrrgh....) LOL

If you want to really get the Marshall experience, stand in front of a full stack and play when everything on it is turned up full blast.

Marshall all the way. Right now I have a small peavy practice amp that works ok. But I know once I get this Jackson, I am going to be Jonesin for that Marshall sound. I started playing in 1988 and played up until 1993 when I ran into some trouble and had to sell all of my shit to avoid going to jail.......... long story, picked up a p.o.s. guitar a few years back, it sucks, I hate it, bought a tuner yesterday, saw this Blue Jackson, and said to myself "Self! You need to own that thar geetar." lol. So I am pretty much re-starting my whole guitar "career".

It will be easier on your ears if we wait awhile on the recordings. lol. I have always been a Jackson fan, but Fender is my first love. My "baby" was a strat, sunburst, maple neck, with a flody rose locking tremolo, EMG humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions, and an EMG single coil in the mid. Jack Cassidy did all of the customization for me.

Edit to add Jack Cassidy the guitar tech, not Jack Cassidy the guitarist.

My story is similar to yours, Thomas: When I lived in Japan, I had a black Les Paul Custom (tobacco sunburst), Fender Twin Reverb amp, crybaby pedal, overdrive pedal, and a nice volume control pedal. The whole setup was fuckin' SWEET... Ran into some financial trouble and sold the whole kit for pennies on the dollar. I came home, hurled myself on the couch, and actually shed tears. That fuckin' sucked soooo bad. *sigh* All I had after that, was my acoustic, which I've had for years and years... I hardly ever play it anymore though, since taking up piano.

The first dinky I had ... OK Langa, fire away. :o .... was one of those countless Dinky Toys from Britain that everybody on the planet owned at one time or another. Mine was a little Land Rover that's probably still around with my old train set. This stuff is called something else now but I can't rememeber. Best toy I every had.
