Title: One of the good ones Post by JDH on Sep 23rd, 2005, 9:39am Yesterday I went to see the Dr who treats my CH’s because it’s getting into “that time of year” for me and I wanted to get my ‘scripts ready just in case. While we were talking he mentioned that he recently instructed his staff to make sure they leave a few appointments open every week in case a cluster patient calls they can get them in a.s.a.p. instead of the usual 4-6 weeks which we all know doesn’t work. Since a lot of the doc’s we deal with seem to be clueless and uncaring I thought this was a great idea and I just wanted to give props where they are due. His name is Dr Timothy Smith of the Ryan Headache Center St Louis MO…thank you Dr!!! Jim |

Amen! :) That's just fantastic! Now, let's just hope that when October comes, CH doesn't come as well... :-/ |

Title: Re: One of the good ones Post by maffumatt on Sep 23rd, 2005, 9:03pm I use a GP as my primary doctor, right after I was diagnosed I had a really bad hit at work and called to see if I could come in. His receptionist told me that all his appointments were booked, and that I could come in and perhaps he might be able to fit me in. Well I showed up and sat in the reception room until his nurse walked by. She recognised me and told the Dr I was there. He put me in a dark room and brought me an O2 bottle. My first experiance with O2 convienced me it was right for me. Anyway he told me if I was ever getting hit and had no meds to come in no matter what the receptionist said and to tell her to let him know I was there. He also gave me a statdose pen and wrote me a script, I had seen the tip here. When I called back and told him that it worked great but my insurance wouldnt cover enough of it he personaly went to every clinic in town and got me all their free samples, 14 or 15 if I remember right. He even got me a script for Sansert which is not approved here anymore. He ordered it from Canada and had me come pick it up. As long as I live here I wont need any other Dr. All my other experiances with them were not that great. I had at least 5 diagnose me with sinus headaches and would write me a script for antibiotics, one even accused me of being a drug seeker and told me that if I was looking for them I would have to go elsewhere. None believed the extent of the pain that I was going through. Sorry for the long post, but that is one man I respect........................... |
