Title: what a week Post by alchemy on Sep 17th, 2005, 5:09pm last weekend my cycle changed and i went from 6 ch's a day to 11. monday morning i had to put my beloved german shepard down. right after that i was at the nuero where they sent me to the hosp for pred iv's. been going for five days straight finished fri, now i'm on a taper. this stuff is hell. i don't sleep to begin with and the pred makes it worse. the docs are now loading me up with new sleep aids to keep me out of the hos. i've been to laid out to even come on the site and have missed you all. i was starting to let the beast win and i said fuck that and am now starting the long fight back. i'm determined to win. and with you guys i know i will. jim |

Title: Re: what a week Post by burnt-toast on Sep 18th, 2005, 7:18am Jim, Almost no sleep, fear of rest, at times unrelenting and indescribeable pain that is predictably repetitive and side effects of somewhat helpful meds. What used to be normal life turned into some kind of self understood prison that outsiders can't comprehend. How easy it is for this nightmare to take over and leave us feeling crushed and alone - even when we have a good support team on hand. All we have is our ability to keep fighting back and folks on this board that truely know our nightmare. Don't ever give up! Keep your mind in the right place and lean of the folks here when it becomes too difficult. Every day we get through another round with this nightmare is a WIN. God Bless Tom |
