Title: Old memories song...........
Post by cootie on Sep 17th, 2005, 3:22pm
Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)
(Mickey Newbury)

(Yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in)

I woke up this mornin' with the sundown shinin' in
I found my mind in a brown paper bag within
I tripped on a cloud and fell-a eight miles high
I tore my mind on a jagged sky
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in

(Yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in)

I pushed my soul in a deep dark hole and then I followed it in
I watched myself crawlin' out as I was a-crawlin' in
I got up so tight I couldn't unwind
I saw so much I broke my mind
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in

(Yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in)

Someone painted "April Fool" in big black letters on a "Dead End" sign
I had my foot on the gas as I left the road and blew out my mind
Eight miles outta Memphis and I got no spare
Eight miles straight up downtown somewhere
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in

I said I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in
Yeah     yeah       oh-yeah

Hey Pam I know how you feel. Come to think of it, having too many friends is probably not that good anyway.

Hermit in training, Tim

My ONLY friends for the past week walk on all fours and know all the words to the meow mix song. The dogs do a good randition to 'who's that kitty in the window'. Funny tho how songs you mite of heard 'way back when' catch your ear again when back then you were tired of it and thought it was lame cuz ya heard it so much. I have recognized the talent the past years in songs I took for granted 'way back when'. Conditionaly condition'd Pam

Think I could get that song on slow dialup Jonny ? I can't even get big pictures at times........will take hours or go thru a loop and keep resending. Slow dial up is one of my worst conditions........pisses me off.

I will send it Babe, just open it when you go to be and leave the puter on.....

Brad on harmonica would sound great on this version.

Old songs, well... I must say that the songs I liked once I like still. Even though it has been a long time since I listened to some particular record, I still like the same songs! This weekend I reconnected with Leann Rimes album "I Need You".

Pam, you've got lots of friends in here! :) No need to worry about that one... ;;D

Sanna :)

I got the song.....KEWL !!! Do radio stations still play Magot Brain like they used to ? I am always jammin cd's so don't have the radio on in the truck much. Used to be every nite on the weekends at 1:30 am Magot Brain was played TRADITIONALY. We always knew it ment the party was about over and be thinkin bout goin home or crashin. Well.....we did alot of 'party'n till ya peuk or the sun comes up' way back when too!! Always knew what time it was cuz that song was always played. Think a few years ago some station started playin it earlier but it wasn't the same. Crank it up Pam

Awesome song and a friend of mine used play it at the end of his band gigs and get down on his knees to play......wow, that rocked !!
