Title: Let's welcome Johanna!!!
Post by sandie99 on Sep 16th, 2005, 11:55am
Dear family,

I've been communicating for a while now with another Finnish clusterhead. I found out about her via her mother at this board (Children & cluster's; thanks for the tip, Helen!).

Now, let's give Johanna a warm clusterhead welcome to clusterhead family!
I'm hoping that we'd get to see you posting here someday very soon! :) No need to be afraid. :)
Quest or a member, you're welcome here every day! :)

Tervetuloa! :)

Sanna :)

Hi Johanna,
I'm glad you are joining us! I know it was your mum who posted and I felt a great affinity with her as I too have a child with CH.. although my son is still only a little (BIG!) boy of just turned four!!
Looking forward to getting to know you and your mum I hope!

Welcome Johanna! Uh... where are you? I don't see you.

Sandie, I'm still waiting to find out why you have that Christmas ticker on your posts...

Are you trying to make me go postal by reminding me that this dreaded holiday is coming up? ;;D

Rex, I'm so sorry. [smiley=hug.gif]
I love Christmas like a kid, so I personally can't wait for it. I usually mark a counter to my calendar, but since I'm often here, I decided to put a counter here instead. That's why I have a Christmas ticker. I hope that explains it.

Oh, and Sanna, since you love Christmas so much, do you know why...

- people bring pine trees into their homes at Christmas time?
- people put gifts under the tree?
- people hang stockings for gifts on the fireplace?
- they use red and white stockings?
- Santa comes down the chimney?
- and do you know how  reindeer fly?

I've heard some theories about these topics over the years, but do let me know, Bob. :)

Christmas is all about magic mushrooms, the Clusterbuster's treatment for CH. It's all explained here:

I must admit: haven't read that theory about Christmas before! Though I still believe into it's magical side...Perhaps silly, but I do.

Christmas brings out many good, unselfish qualities in many people I know and that's just wonderful. I wish they'd be like that the rest of the year, too, but hey, one season is better than nothing!

But I'll recall that theory the next time mum gives me stress about traditional family Christmas... ;;D

BTW, in our family, the gifts are never under the tree... ;)

Rex, don't worry. I didn't take it the wrong way. I used to stress a lot from Christmas until 1996. Dad's last Christmas was a beautiful, peaceful one. That changed it all for me. I've had nice Christmases ever since.

Actually, I've been wondering this Christmas thing a lot lately. I think that the American Christmas must be a whole lot more stressful than ours. Me and mum give each other gift lists, so there's no stress about presents; we just pick one thing from the wish list. And food... we get turkey, salmon, potatoes, macaroni & cheese, green salad, vegetable cassaroles, I bake cookies, cake and make plum quark... Mum's two siblings come over with their families, we play Trivial Pursuit, sing carols if we feel like it, read Bible, eat for few hours, open presents, visit grave yeard, watch the Mass from Vatican (although we're not Catholic), listen to Christmas music, take it easy. :)

But still this is the first year I could actually skip the traditional Christmas and travel somewhere. My cousin and her boyfriend are traveling to New York this Christmas, so they might not be there with us, which takes away little bit of that magic. But then again, Christmas is still 3 months away. Anything could happen.
