Title: My recent visit to the efin post efin office Post by rextangle on Sep 14th, 2005, 2:25pm Ok... here we go again!!!! >:( The goal: To send an overnight envelope. (Dictionary:A flat paper container, especially for a letter, usually having a gummed flap) Seems simple enough... RIGHT???? So, of course, there's a line. It's hot as hell and stinky as usual. There's a semi-homeless looking guy behind me who has no sense of personal space. He's less than a foot away behind me and breathing like a hog after speedskating. Of course he coughs on a regular basis, and I can feel little drops of spits hitting the back of my neck. I try to stay calm and picture a beautiful place... doesn't work! All I can picture is flames around me and a short dude with horns wearing red holding a pitchfork. Again, we have 30 people crammed in this little tiled room and only 2 employees behind the counter. I'm familiar with both of them... one chats with everybody and the other one is deaf. After what seems like a 2 week waiting period, I hear "NEXT!". That's it!!! It's my turn!!!! Yee-fuckin'haw! I get the deaf lady. Before I continue, I should make it clear, that I'm completely for hiring handicaped and disabled people. But the problem with her is not that she's deaf, but she's also very rude and mean. [smiley=huh.gif] So, I approach and say: "Hello there, I would like to overnight this". She looks at the brown envelope and proceed to yell "THAT'S THE WRONG ENVELOPE!!! THAT'S THE WRONG ENVELOPE!!! THAT'S THE WRONG ENVELOPE!!!" as if I was hard of hearing, not to mention the tone of voice she used. Still polite, I told her that they were out of the OVERNIGHT envelopes, and that she could just put a zillion little stickers on it that scream OVER-fuckin-NIGHT, right??? Nooooooooooo... she just goes (even louder): "THAT'S THE WRONG ENVELOPE!!!THAT'S THE WRONG ENVELOPE!!!THAT'S THE WRONG ENVELOPE!!!" as she points her finger to the back of the line. I turn around, looking for empathy from anyone in the line, and the semi-homeless dude just stares me down as if I was the a$$hole!!!>:( and the rest of them are giving me nasty looks!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS FUCKED UP FUCKIN SHIT???? Of course, I go back to square one without getting what I tried to accomplish. By that time I'm so pissed off, I just wanted to leave, but I had to mail that fuckin envelope that day!!!!GRRRRRRRR [smiley=mad.gif] And as I said before, they were OUT of the overnight fuckin envelopes.... So I spot an employee in the back and asked her if she could help me. She says "I'm on break"... Of course she's on break! Why the fuck not??? Why would she be working??? To be honest, it has become very difficult to make the difference between a working employee and someone on break. I remember the days (and I'm not even that old) when you could tell if someone was working or on break, but lately I can't fuckin tell anymore!!!! Finally I found another wandering uniformed bastard who agreed to go look for the Overnight envelope. Took 12 minutes to get ONE!!!! I must have caught him in the 3 minute of his break!!! GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!![smiley=bash.gif] Anyway, I have to fill an additional fuckin post fuckin office fuckin form to send the fuckin overnight fuckin envelope!!! Money spent: $17.50 Time wasted: 37 minutes Pissed-off-meter: 94.5/100 I must be getting more patient with my old age. Morality: FUCK THE FUCKIN POST FUCKIN OFFICE [smiley=moonwiggle.gif] [smiley=mad.gif] Amen! Rex |

Title: Re: My recent visit to the efin post efin office Post by ghost62 on Sep 14th, 2005, 2:50pm Last time I had a similar experience I stayed calm and asked to speak to there supervisor. I then stayed there till they got him in my case holding up the line. when the clerk asked me to step out of the way till he came I politely said" I will wait right here to ensure that the supervisor is expiditious in his arrival." the supervisor showed in about 3 min and the clerk was removed and replaced on the spot but of course went back later. I also like how they scurry around till they get a customer then down shift to low speed . |

Title: Re: My recent visit to the efin post efin office Post by Lizzie2 on Sep 14th, 2005, 3:09pm Rex! You're post office luck so closely resembles my Eckerd Pharmacy luck that it's scary!!! OMG by the end one day I reamed out a pharmacist....I NEVER do that. I'm not one to ever say anything rude to someone when out in public just because they're pissing me off big time. I lost it though. I just could not handle one more freaking moment of incompetence. They were nice to me at the post office here, but then...I'm new, young, a nurse, and have some kind of accent that sounds 'foreign' to them....so maybe it was just a phenomenon more than anything else. hahaha Hugz, Lizzie2 :) |

Title: Re: My recent visit to the efin post efin office Post by rextangle on Sep 14th, 2005, 3:31pm Scott, no! I actually rarely go to the Post fuckin Office. I would never pay my bills like that!!! are you nuts? Oh, and the recipients didn't get it the next day either!!! The address was at some County road in Gunnison, CO. , but they hand delivered him a notice to tell him there was an overnight letter at his fuckin post fuckin office!!!!! FEDEX??? Don't get me started on that!!! When wife #2's mom died, they lost the freakin ashes!!! I had to go to 3 different FEDEX offices in NY city to find them myself!!! Then I had to go to the Bronx to scatter the ashes... but that's another story! >:( |

Title: Re: My recent visit to the efin post efin office Post by cootie on Sep 14th, 2005, 6:05pm I hate the post office also.....I won't even go there to buy stamps and rather take my risk with looseing my change at Walmart in there stamp machine. Our postoffice in our one light town is the size of a bathroom and can easily fit 3 people inside in line. They take there lunch break from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.....they lock the door and leave......there is no one fuckin in there at all !!! So I gotta go to the bigger one in the next town that is surrounded by one way streets.....I have spent alot of time like I was on a dam carosel ride goin round and round and round waiting for a parking spot to open. I don't even like my mail man/women/person/jerks anymore cuz they hired them from big city's for a 'extra money job'......no more nice Mr "how are you today" mailman out here. I miss that !!!! They practically throw my mail at the mailbox some days....got like 3 different people/jerks that deliver now and never the same time twice. They leave my box open half the time cuz there in a hurry and my mail gets sucked out into the road by passing big trucks taht about hit you when tryin to get your mail or....pick it up out of the road. Then if ya go to town and theres one driveing around delivering mail they will SPEED up when you go to drive past them as there stuffin mail boxes in a hurry and and not let you by!!! Some sort of GAME I guess ?? One came around a corner on the WRONG side of the road cuz of course they were sitting in the passenger side driveing and readin mail....almost did a head on !! I hate anything to do with MAIL. I hate Verizon store just as much. People chatting on there cell phones talking too loud in line around me while I wait in line for one and a half hours. I am gettin low in the patience dept.......tried to drop off a script the other day at Walmart but had to wait while sum lady CHIT CHATTED with the pharmsist. She looked at me and said.....Oh I think this lady needs to talk to you rite now more then I do....WTF. Yeah I was in a hurry to get my meds so I could commit suicide before the store closed Pam Testy aren't I ?????? |

Title: Re: My recent visit to the efin post efin office Post by Charlie on Sep 14th, 2005, 9:19pm Ever since the lady from postal hell retired, I have no problem. She used to try to pry open every other one of my ebay envelopes for some kind of inspection (most of my stuff goes in a large manila) that I spend a lot of time working on so things are just right. I even fill out customs tags at home. :o I hope she gets cancelled real soon. http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/stamper.gif Charlie |

Title: Re: My recent visit to the efin post efin office Post by Lizzie2 on Sep 14th, 2005, 9:35pm Penn State - Happy Valley - yet another thing to be proud of: Mike the Mailman and Don The Mail Guy! They are beloved members of the Penn State community. Mike the Mailman always plays a huge role in THON (http://www.thon.org) by doing mail call - hundreds of letters, care packages, etc for the over 600 students on their feet for 48 straight hours to raise money for kids with cancer at Hershey Med Center. They have signs all over the post office. They constantly ring a little bell and hold up a sign while saying, "Hey! Nice shoes!" I got the comment once when I was wearing my old blue nike sneakers with blue sweatpants...probably was wearing an orange t-shirt but had a blue backpack and a blue winter coat....it was hilarious. Talk about a post office where they genuinely make your day....every day! http://live.psu.edu/still_life/05_12_03_mailman/large.html http://live.psu.edu/index.php?sec=vs&story=2987 |
