It could be that god, or maybe “the gods” are spiting you for something you’ve done that angered them. It could be that the government is targetting microwaves on your home for any overestimations you made on the value of your contributions to Goodwill on last year’s tax return. It could be that the neighbors have poisoned your well (although this mostly went out with the middle ages), or that the mercury is leeching into your water supply.
