Title: Better stock up on coffee folks.... Post by BarbaraD on Sep 2nd, 2005, 11:10am Just heard on the news that New Orleans was the warehouse for about 1/2 the country's stockpile of coffee. SO.... looks like we're going to have a shortage or prices are going up (what else is new)..... I'm picking up my grandson in a few minutes and plan to make a trip to Sam's. don't know where the hell I'm gonna store it, but I AIN'T running out of coffee (other staples I can live without, but NOT MY COFFEE!!!!). You just don't want to be around THIS clusterhead without her coffee.... trust me on this one.... Hugs BD |

Post by BarbaraD on Sep 2nd, 2005, 4:29pm Just got back from Sams -- got enough to last me for at least 6 months -- (hey I was a boy scout - always be prepared!). Anyhow, they were low (they were stocking as fast as they could - just couldn't keep up with the crowd). It was unreal in the store.. People were buying things for the refugees mostly. And everyone was discussing what was needed. My grandson was asking everyone questions and they were answering him. We bought lots of crayolas and books, paper plates, cups, gatorade, (and pink lemonade at Caleb's insistance - he thinks the "kids" need pink lemonade). He wanted to get them lots of candy but I talked him out of that one. We're packing up diapers now and going thru his clothes and our closets. He's getting into this but can't understand it really too well. We've got the news on, but he can't imagine kids not having a home ("Can they go home tomorrow Granny?). I just want to cry. Anyhow - off on a rant and not this thread, but I'm old -- I'm allowed... Hugs BD |

Now picture this...that was the "savers card" price. Up 2.50 over last time I purchased. So I spent just a little more for the cheaper brand, got the beans and ground them to a proberbial turkish style powder. I like my coffee strong, but I'm hoping this will streach it out farther... Anyone know where I can get a coffee by IV set up anywhere...cheap? for: typos |
