Title: EDNA is ok .... Post by TxBasslady on Sep 1st, 2005, 7:14pm After calling non stop for days....I finally got hold of Edna. She, Danny and the kids are fine. They have very minor damage, but no flooding. Power and phones have been on for about 30 minutes. She has no computer....but will let me know if there's anything they need. Still no info on SteveG.. :'( Edna has not been able to reach him either. My truck was packed, and I was ready to make the trip to Edna's. I decided to call one more time...and when her daughter answered, I was about in tears! Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers. Edna is very special to me, and I knew I couldn't rest till I knew she was ok. Jean |

Edna and family are a bit edgy....seems as though these a$$holes are running up and down the streets. Police force had their hands full the last few days...trying to patrol and make sure peoples homes were safe. Some folks in town left before the hurricane hit, so there were several vacated homes. Today, the Police in Raceland are busy with these weirdos that are running thru town scaring all the residents. Edna said most of her neighbors are armed and without a doubt not afraid to shoot this scum. Edna had a great idea...."turn off the cameras...for about an hour....shoot these bastards...and leave 'em lay." Anyway, they have plenty of family at the house with them, and will make sure someone is there at all times, in hopes the looters will move on. This is a shame....as if folks haven't had a bad enough time already. Jean |

Now that I know Edna and family are ok, I am gonna put my resources to work on finding Steve & Dianne. Steve was one of the first CH'ers I met. Her feathers seem to be unruffled and she is waiting to get power and cable back. Seems she has family staying with them, so, they are all safe and together. She urges us all to dig into our pockets-NOT for herself, but for those less fortunate. Edna is actually just waiting for word that she can go be of help somewhere in this mess. Edna is also concerned about Steve....his home is on Mandeville, and I guess there is a lot of destruction there. She thinks he headed for higher ground. As I was telling her I didnt want to tie up the limited amount of lines for too long....the phone went dead.......I guess it was time for us to end our lil chat. :-/ So glad you are safe, Edna, my friend.......... ;;DNow, to hear from Steve..... :-/ Cathi |

I'm at the Memphis Public Library. Don't know when we will be heading home. Neighbor said that house sustained some damage but is livable. Any local clusterheads ...give me a call. Do not have time to read all the stuff but I hope all are okay. This is so sad. A lady in the Wal mart saw what I was buying and gave me a $20 and insisted that I have it. I went to an isle and finally wept. This is horrible. I'll try to write back tomorrow. Steve G |

Here in Florida, we have atleast 2 buses (60 passengers) that are leaving here on Tuesday night 9/6/05, going into the effected area. We are going to bring supplies, mostly Bottled Water & Canned Meats, on the Return trip we will be offering Mothers & Their Children, Tranporation to Florida.. We are working with the Red Cross in about 5 counties and they are offering to help them once here in Fla. with everything they need. If anyone knows an area where someone could use the Help or possibility be wanting out of the area, post and I will PM my number or I can call you... I believe that the Red Cross is trying to reach people there and get an area for us to go to, but we are just trying to get help to as many as possibile... I am not asking nothing from anyone, we have the supplies.. just trying to get help in there... Thanks All !!! Charlie |
