People have been known to go crazy when they're homeless, starving, thirsty and have no escape. :-/

They are shooting at the helicopters that are coming to give them their escape.

Not all of them are...
only the one(s) that are CRAZY.

Last month a Sheriif's helicopter was shot down over Albuquerque. Everybody thought WTF? It was an Iraq war vet with PTSD. He was sitting at home, heard it and went nuts. Crazy people do not behave like "normal" people.
