Title: ""Update for my extended Family"&am Post by sailpappy on Aug 31st, 2005, 8:17am ;;DI've been around in the shadows, watching and waiting for the right moment, DJ, your site continues to be the unpreciddented success story with all the new posters! First let me unload the Good News, before I have to scream in the streets. On July 23rd at 12:20pm I was blessed again by recieving a wonderful, Very Handsom Grandson. My baby girl (Amanda Nichole) and her husband became the latest in the Hallahan Clan to become parents. John Michael Donaruma decided that he had to enter this world the same way his father did. He had the ambilicale cord wrapped around his little kneck and both Mother and child were rushed into the OR to have an Emergence "C" section. Thank God for the Featal Moniter that the doctor put on his scalp. The surgery went well and within moments I was Greeting John Michael( seems his dad pulled the same stunt when he was born too! So Old Sailpappy has a "first mate" in training and at 4 days old he is already lifting his head up enough to turn from one side to the other. They will be staying with us until November, when John starts a new job in Sarasota, Better benefits, More Money and a friendly crew!! Already making the sacrifices to insure his family will be stable and secure! Personally---I have been so depressed for the past 8 months that I have barely written to anyone. I am blessed to have a few Friends from this Board that have stuck with me through all of my personal Problems. I have sent the Grandkids back to Wisconsin to live with their Dad and his new wife.(doing Great so far!) I also ended up having to sell my house and moved out in May so the crew could begin the vast repairs that needed to be done. for the first time in 25 years Terri and I are renting, and I'll have to say its Great! First time in 31 years that we dont have kids in the house!!!!! We are still caught up in the [What do you want to do??]{I don't know, what do you want to do} however we did buy new mountain bikes and have been riding as much as we can stand it! My Clusters are at the 7 to 10 range right now and if they stay in that range I will be taking off to Pan fpr Gold with a friend that lives in Kentucky soon! I might stop on the way and visit some of you Lucky Free Spirits along the way!! Ms. Ree, The Briki's,Svenn,LadyElaine, Judy G and a few Oldtimers are aware of how much Pain and misery I have been in over the past year, I hope I'm on the downside now as I am being treated for the depression! I know a lot of you wont have a clue who i am, but I'll be coming back from time to time to break up the even ebb and flow of the board. Those that do know me my Hep C viral load is up from 7,489,000 to 10,006,000 and I am considering going back on the treatment on more time. If it doesnt kill me, it just might have some possitive affect this time? Trysten and Heaven (Our Grandkids) have been gone 3 months now and I almost over feeling like I deserted my own kids. After 71/2 years they really did feel like our own kids, but they are doing Great in Wisconsin with their Dad and new Step Mom! Even though I haven't been posting much, It sure is good to know that this site is still here waiting for me! God Bless YOU and YOURS DJ! Like some of you my oldest son James Eric is in Iraq now too! So if you have any extra room in your prayer devotional, he sure could use it! Glad to see so many of you are still around---I have been missing my Family! Pappy |

Title: Re: ""Update for my extended Family" Post by DonnaHar on Aug 31st, 2005, 7:11pm Hi John........So glad to see you posting again. Please keep it coming. Three months already since the kids left? It does fly, doesn't it? My son and grandson (who lived with me for 5 years after the little guys' mom went grocery shopping and found a new partner that day and never came back) have been gone 4 months now and my heart hurts every day. They've moved to Michigan (I think I told you that already) I know what you are feeling in that regard. But they must live their lives as they think best, just as we did. Praying that the count goes down again!!! Thanks for the update and say HI to Terri. Love ya dear friend, Donna H. |

Title: Re: ""Update for my extended Family" Post by MargaretG on Aug 31st, 2005, 8:34pm Hey Sailpappy! I remember you well, I'm not sure you'll remember me but I was on the "old board" in the 90's & early 21st century. I just in the past few months got back on the board myself after a series of hardware problems. Hopefully solved now, at least for the moment. I'm sorry to hear of all you've experienced, and especially sorry about the 7 to 10's and I hope your cycle breaks soon. I've had a few CH this year after a 4 year hiatus, nothing went over a 6.5 range so I considered myself very fortunate. I know you all must miss the grandkids, those little rascals just move into your heart and take over don't they? It's like when the kids move out, the empty nest is pretty lonely at first, but later it's kinda nice. Congratulations on the new first mate, he sounds like he's gonna be a fine fellow and he's fortunate to have a doting Granpa on hand. Glad to be in touch again. Take care! :) |
