Title: 42 year old record broken! Post by jimbo on Aug 30th, 2005, 10:26am Along with my collarbone! Damn ATV'S ;;D When I arrived at the ER in beautiful Wild Rose Wi. the nurse asked me on a scale of 1-10 how was the pain. I said I get clusterheadaches, so this pain is like having an ice cream cone. The cool thing was she knew exactly what I was talking about. The part that pissed me of is I'm 42 and never broke a bone. And for all you inquisitive people, alcohol was not a factor. ;;D Remind me to never to do a donut on an ATV again. Amazing isn't it that you can have a broken bone and not feel like you need anything for it?! I swear, I had a breast reduction (ever seen how they do this surgery? *shiver*) and took Tylenol - over the counter, not even the prescription strength. :-* - Karen |

After3/4 of a bottle of WILD TURKEY my brother Kyle did the same thing last summer, I could see the bone trying to pop out his skin so I gently pushed his shoulder back and pushed the bone back in place and took him to the ER. The doc. at the ER was impressed with my work. Not bad for a drunk hillbilly. Get well soon and make sure there's plenty of mud next time, it cushions the fall. |

I went to see another doc. today for a follow up visit and he said that the collar bone was pretty "F'd up". Turns out that the bones are not getting closer together, they are actually pulling apart. So, surgery is the only option. Clamp. drill hole long ways through the bone, insert long pin and have pretty much instant mobility. Before that though, He asked me to take off my T-shirt, when I did this normally he couldn't believe that it didn't hurt me and said most people would probably need help in doing so because of the pain. I dunno, maybe I'm weird. Hey, anyone need a Vicodin Prescription? ;;D Just kidding Seeya, Broken wing Jimbo |
