Our wonderful department of transportation is widening the main drag in front of my little neighborhood, so all sorts of junk is going on. For some reason, we don't know why, they are trenching down our street, laying some sort of tubing.

Yesterday, the cut through our telephone lines. No land line, and since we have DSL hookup through our phone company, no internet. We got telephone back this morning around 11:00.

At 1:30 this afternoon, while my husband was working on the computer on a new project, they cut the damn POWER line. Now, the entire neighborhood is without power!

ARRRRGH! >:(

That sucks. They're supposed to have all the utilities spotted before they dig. Careless contractors... >:(

Here, even a homeowner is suppose to call "Digsafe" before digging (within reason) or face fines.

Power's back on, thank God. The worst thing about not having power is not lack of TV, lights, etc. Our house is serviced by well and septic systems. No power = no well pump = no water = no FLUSH = STINKYPOO! :-/ We definitely have a huge problem if the power stay off for very long! Not to mention the ice cream melts and the beer gets warm. ;;D

There ought to be a damn law!!!

Those bastards should be fined 1 million a day if that happens ;;D
