Gorgeous!  Thanks, Paul.  I use to grow them, but since they don't do well inside in the winter here, it means restarting every spring.  So I settle on enjoying the hibiscus at the garden centers.  ;;D

Excellent pic Vig.  I don't know a damn thing about flowers, so I stick to insects, arachnids, and reptiles.  It was a good weekend.  I found a 'Milkweed Paradise' (Actual pictures... no cropping and no digital zoom):

Dragonfly (Darner)

Bald Faced Hornet

The Copperhead from earlier this year may still be my favorite:

Oh man....  Those are some great photos!!

I always enjoy the insect/arachnid/reptile photos, too!

Those spiders: Being so vividly marked means that they are venomous?

Technically, most spiders are venomous (it's how they eat), but most spiders can't physically bite people (or won't even try).  I imagine that with that coloration, they probably taste bad to birds, but I'm not sure.  There are really only 2 spiders to worry about (in the USA): Black Widow and Brown Recluse.  Most people that think they've been bitten by a spider were probably bitten by a wheel bug:

There was a ton of them there, probably eating japanese beetles.  Their bite is reportedly on par with a hornet sting.  I was surrounded by enough of them but I wasn't going to try and find out  ;)

I've seen those spiders all over Asia, and we have them here in Tennessee, too. I just wondered. I've always thought they were really pretty.

I was scrambling up the side of a mountain in Sequoia National Forest, because my dad and I were cutting firewood, (dead wood only, for obvious reasons) and it looked like there was a nice stand of oak, so I was going up to scout it out.

As I was trying to get up the berm where the road had been cut from the side of the mountain, I heard, "FTTTTTTTTTT!!!" I froze and found myself nose to nose, less than two feet from a timber rattler who was all coiled up and ready to rock 'n' roll.

I called out in a quavery voice, "Dad? DAD??!" I began to allow myself to slide back down, ever so gradually, until I felt that I was out of striking distance, and then quickly rolled over and over until I landed on the road. Shaking like a leaf, I went back to the truck, jumped in, and said, "Let's go find a different place to cut."

*shudder*  [smiley=eek.gif]
