We went up to London for the day today and had a lovely time as you can see if you look here under "Jaspers Birthday"

We found a fire engine with number4 on it which Jasper was most impressed with in Trafalgar Square and fountains with REAL water.. whatever next eh?!  ::)  

It was quite incredible how few people there were about, the centre of London in the middle of August and it was like a ghost town.. Tourism has been hit hard by the bombings.

We walked through Admiralty Arch and past Churchills Bunker so I could take a picture for Charlie  :-* and nearly got run over by a couple of police bikes with "woo woo's" and "nee nars" and a dirty great damiler limousine with a royal crest on it. I swung the camera and tried to take a pic.. and got the front end and the crest.. missed the passengers completely! I didn't even see them I was so busy trying to take the picture LOL I asked David who it was and he said "Two old farts, think one of them was that bloke the Queen is married too" Some people just aren't Royalists I guess!

We had an hour in St James Park too which was great fun before heading back up to Hamleys ScoobyDoo Ville where we bought a back pack and a fantastic(ly expensive) cup that talks to you with a scooby voice and says different things every time you drink out of it. It only talks when you actually put it to your lips and I can see David's fingers itching to get his leatherman on it to see how it works.. Em you might need to slap him!!
Jasper got one of those puzzle car games too with a little wind up car that runs around on a track you make up for it.. its a mini.. his other passion!

Then we went to the Rain Forest Cafe which is fantastic. Its at the Trocadero at Piccadilly Circus and well worth a visit. There are all animatronic animals around the place and its literally like bein in a rain forest, there is even a tropical storm complete with thunder and lightening every 20 minutes or so! Its incredible! Our waitress put four candles in Jaspers pudding and then got him to stand on his chair and asked everyone to pay attention, announced it was his birthday and got the whole place to sing happy birthday to him and clap him blowing out his candles! He loved it, he was giving his shy little smile and waving bye to them all when we went - it made his day. He had a lovely day and he is having a party tomorrow so the fun hasn't stopped yet!! (Or the expense.... ARGHH!)

He is going to love seeing this when he wakes up in the morning too so thank you!
