This is what it comes down to. Parents must raise their children, not the schools, not law enforcement, it's not their responsibility. It's my responsibility as a parent. If parents don't teach children limits, and reinforce that, how can they be expected to know this in school? Or the real world? |

Title: Re: Looks like the same school I went to Post by burnt-toast on Aug 20th, 2005, 8:00am Amen to that, parents must be responsible for teaching values, morals, right and wrong and the dangers of drug use to their children. Anyone attempting to outsource these responsibilities to schools is making a huge mistake. I disagree where the article mentions "drug free schools" - I don't believe they exist. There isn't enough security to frisk every student every time they enter the building to guarantee a "drug free" school. Parents hoping to avoid exposing their children to drugs by sending them to elite schools are also making a huge mistake. Let schools address the book learning - everything else is up to the parents. Title: Re: Looks like the same school I went to Post by nani on Aug 20th, 2005, 9:28am I agree. However, there are so many children out there who's parents don't do that... part of the reason we have to teach these things (like charachter education) in schools. So many "lost" children and so many adults who don't care about them... :'( LOL Tom...I was thinking the same thing. There is such a thing as a drug free school? |
