Title: The Tucker Chronicles Post by don on Aug 19th, 2005, 6:13am Damn bone head Beagle. 2 nights ago I had him at the 24 hour emergency vet. Ripped off a front toenail. Last night he pushes open the screen door and runs right into a skunk. 1 week and the mutt is already changing my plans and my bank account. |

Title: Re: The Tucker Chronicles Post by giffy76 on Aug 19th, 2005, 6:46am Dogs have a way of really pissing you off sometimes, just like children. My lab has been sprayed 5 times this summer. What an idiot! |

Title: Re: The Tucker Chronicles Post by Jasmyn on Aug 19th, 2005, 6:51am Well, doggone it! It must be a dog's life for the poor mutt living with family like you. ::) In the doghouse because he got into some trouble? [smiley=huh.gif] Well every dog has its day! ;;D Obviously I'm on the side of the 4 legged one! :P |

Title: Re: The Tucker Chronicles Post by Langa on Aug 19th, 2005, 7:38am Poor tucker...jeesh...how'd he rip off a nail?? The worst thing i've had to endure with peanut is having the vet empty out her anal sacs. I have to watch that they don't get too big and start squirting out that foul stench at the most inopportune times. :-[ My friend's dog, however, has done it all...it's a weimereiner (sp), big beautiful dog that will eat your car if you let it. Recently, she ate a brillo pad that had to be removed via surgery. Before that, she ate a whole roll of uncooked cookie dough...she was throwing her guts up for days and then couldn't poop...my friend was having a fit. LOL Well, I hope Tucker is doing well... Langa |

Title: Re: The Tucker Chronicles Post by BarbaraD on Aug 19th, 2005, 7:39am Have you tried taking him to the bathhouse with you? It may settle him down a little. He's just nervous living with you right now.... :-/ Poor little thing (the dog NOT you!!) Hugs BD |

Title: Re: The Tucker Chronicles Post by nani on Aug 19th, 2005, 8:23am No matter how many times a dog gets sprayed...they still go after skunks. WTF? I keep a fresh bottle of skunk smell remover spray at all times. So then they only smell like skunky oranges for a week or so. :-/ Quote:
Whatever you do, DO NOT adopt a kid! ;) pictures please... |

not that I feed my dog onions or raisins - he farts more than enough without!! - but I had no idea they could be toxic! I'll definitely be emailing you Donna, thank you Helen |

Title: Re: The Tucker Chronicles Post by Margi on Aug 22nd, 2005, 10:30am yep, Helen, onions definitely are toxic for pooches. Same with raisins, grapes and chocolate. We've also noticed Barly is very sensitive to turkey, chicken and ham. No problem with beef or lamb though. And, he especially likes watermelon and tomatoes. ;) If I grow tomatoes, i have to keep them up out of his reach or he'll harvest them before I get a chance! |

Title: Re: The Tucker Chronicles Post by BMoneeTheMoneeMan on Aug 22nd, 2005, 11:14am My Dad used to have a white lab that LOVED cantalope and grapes. Course, then his farts smelled like cantalope for about a month, so we stopped giving it to him. The big lug, he was a cute pooch. BMonee |
