Title: Middle aged woman? You must read... Post by nani on Aug 18th, 2005, 12:38pm ...this. If you're facing menopause, an empty nest, caring for your parents, raising another batch of kids, been married for more than 15 years... ...or in my case, all of the above... ;) do yourself a favor and read The Interuption of Everything by Terry McMillan. (It wouldn't hurt for some of you younger sisters to read it, too... a nice peek ahead. LOL) This book gave me the kick in the ass I needed (but didn't even know I needed) to get the hell ON with my life. It's a great read, with some good "get real" lessons. estrogen impaired and ...whew...is it HOT in here or am I on FIRE? ~nani |

Nani.this is good. I often reference the Sandwich Generation...caught between our aging parents and our maturing (but not as close as they think they are) offspring. This is us.....and it isnt always easy. Thqakes love, and energy, and love, and strength, and love......and, and.well, I think we get the gist. Personally. I cant wait to reach the "Lazing on the Beach phase of my life"............coz, THEN, I'll have time to read this and many other books on my list.... :-/ Steady on............. Cathi |

A-Ha! Only 22 more days Helen! You'll have to plan something totally outrageous! You know 40 is not even a woman's halfway mark while most men at 30 have passed any mark that they ever could have made in life (except for the marks they leave on trees and underwear!) ::) |

Can go where I want, do what I want, think and say what I want, without having to hear "Oh MOTHER, that is so lame!" I also have time to read (but since I'm way past menopause - hysterectomy years ago - dunno know if this book is for me). Retirement in three years (If I can stand it that long).
