Title: bad trip
Post by maffumatt on Aug 14th, 2005, 9:16am
I had to go to Pine Bluff Arkansas on Friday for work. That is around 7 hours from here. Thursday night was a nightmare, I got perhaps an hour sleep. I went to work and kicked a couple cars out and left for Arkansas around eight. About halfway between Joplin and Fort Smith my truck started acting up, acting like I had bought some bad gas. Well I made it to Conway before it got so bad that I couldn't go any further. I found a Ford dealership and was able to get it in, rented a truck from Enterprise, loaded a pallet of comp bars and a rail drill into it from my truck. I pulled up to the Pine Bluff Arsenal around 3. We started replaceing a crossing at 4, and got it finished aroung 5AM. It was a long hot night, I got hit at 9 - 12 - 3. I couldn't get away or quit, the army required to us to get it done in one night and be open for traffic. Between the lights, machinery, heat, and fumes I felt like my head was going to explode. Well we got it done and I got back to Conway to get my truck and headed back. About the time I got back to Fort Smith it started acting up again. By the time I got home it would only go around 40 mph. I am to old for this kinda crap, I was so tired when I got home that all I wanted to do was collapse in my bed. I couldn't though, for personal reasons I wont get into, but I didnt get to bed until after midnight. I believe that was the longest two days I have ever had. Sorry for the long whining post.................
Matt

If you work for the Army as a civilian, get a note from your doc explaining your need to carry your trex, show it to your base commander and ask him to write a memo allowing you to carry them on any post and you shouldn't have that trouble again.  You sound like one tough guy to put up with all of that and be getting hit with CH pain...and even tough guys have to cry sometime ( and CH will make anyone cry now and then).  Guys like you keep the Army going.

Talked to my Brother who is in the army, He said, to get a letter from your Dr. & get it aproved from the army dr. on base, then take it to the commander. should pass no problem.
sorry you had a bad trip!
PFDANS to you & yours!
Lots of Love & Prayers!!
