Thanks Everyone! I feel better already :-)

Well ya'll know that camping trip we went on? Well we got there went to setting the camper up around 3:pm. the darn crank that cranks the camper up would not lock. After about a hour of sweating and thinking we changed it where it would lock and put the door on and set the beds up. Then everyone went swimming while I unloaded the truck and made the camper cozy.
I never worked so hard! Then they came back and it was time to eat yes, I was starved. I had brought three 1 inch T-Bones and had been thinking about them all day. I thought I had brought the match lite charco but I didn't and we did not take any lighter fluid. It was picking up sticks to ge the fire started. Thank God I had lots of news paper. Finally we got it going. I went in and pluged the mirocway up and started the potatoes. The breaker kicjked off. So after a few minutes of playing with plugs I figured out I can't run the mirco in the plug in the back I have to run it from the plug in the front. Finaly time came to eat. I was to tired to chew . I ate about half my food.
Deveny and the baby turned in early. Buddy and I sat and talked then he headed home. He went to check on the dogs plus he wanted to see something on TV.
I got to hurting and I took a asprin. Then it wouldn't let up so I called Buddy to bring back some tums. He did and when he got there he made me get in the camper under the lights and it said I looked bad. What a thing to say!! I just wanted to go to sleep. Oh no Buddy ran me to the hospital and I was there all week.
I had a heart attack. I am home now and taking medications of all kind. Diet in hand and excerise program ready. I was given nitro when I enter the hospital and I got a cluster. That was no fun. I was on o2 already by the time I got them to give me full mask I was almost over the cluster. I got it and it ended and I was able to have full make when needed. I was given a drug not sure what it was that helped me sleep. It would have wrked great had they stopped waking me up and mrunning test.
I had one nurse that just drove me nuts. I can not stand to be dirty. I have to bath. Well no one would help me bath. I was not going to make Buddy bath me. He was with me every second he wasn't working and he was tired. I sent Buddy home at 11 every night durning the week and when he left I would get up and go to the sink with all my wires and bath myself. One nurse jumped all over me. I told her I was not going to be dirty and that I had asked and no one would help me. She siad something about she couldn't let me bath myself. I told her well bath me or get the hell out so I could. She wrote something about that on my chart and the doctor asked me about it and I told him. I won't be dirty ! They then started helping me bath. I was able to take a full bath yesterday afternoon. They releast me today and I came home and took the longest shower it felt so good.

Now you all know I hated camping so I had a heart attack to get out of it! Thats my story and I am sticking to it!! My release papers say congestive heart failure! I have to go to the doctor next wenesday. I will be ok.

well got to get off now. I guess Buddy and I will be going for a walk. Times like this I wish out road was paved. I hate the taste of dirt as the cars pass by. YUCK

Elaine.... I want you to go get "Lady Elaine" from wherever she is, and put her in your arms and give her a big hug. She has many built right in that she will give you right back. I made sure of that. And then give her an extra squeeze and get the one that is just from me(which she will never run out of).

WOW......that's kinda scarey and glad yer ok. My step dad had a bad heart attack and never knew it till he had to go thru testing for a donar kidney....they said it left some scarring. He remembers changeing some overhead lighting at the hospital he worked at and not feeling good for a bit and sat down for a while. He had no idea it was a hear attack till few years later. Take care of yerself. Them pop up campers are NICE but they are alot of work......we have a nice old one and the cables have broken twice that runs the top up and down....what a job to fix !!! We want to find a 'small' solid body camper so we can jus park and open the door and walk inside. Were campin on ours this weekend down the road at a campgrounds and Brad got it there but still has all that crankin and popin to do yet tomarrow. Healthy heart vibes Pam

So very glad that you are OK. Did you have to do a stress test or have a catherization?

It's amazing how much docs can do for hearts now compared to just 3 or 4 years ago.

Take care dear friend and listen to what they tell you. Don't put off till tomorrow what you are supposed to do today.

Donna I am not even going to try and spell everything they said and done. You know how my spelling is.
I did have the stress test matter of fact I had two different types of stress test. Monday the one that you have to walk the treadmil. Then tuesday I had a ok I will try to spell it Eco oh hell forget it I can't spell it but I am sure you know what that is.
I don't want the catherization done. I refused that. Reason I refuse it is from something that happen to me a few years back. I won't go into that.
I also will never have any kind of heart surgery. That was made plan and put in my records.
When my dad was ill I read and researched meds he was on and all kind of heart stuff. I found lots of good things for MEN not much for Women expecially when it came to surgery.
I watched my grandfather, my grandmoher and my dad die of old age. I watched friends and family members die of cancer. I watched several friends die from heart problems. Given a choise I will take dieing from heart problems over those any day. Do I want to live to be old. ONLY if I have good quility of life. If I hurt all the time and can't do the things I enjoy, then no I don't want to be here. Weather people agree with this or not doesn't matter to me. Its my life and its the way I want things to be. My family knows what is what and they except it . I guess because they have seen what I have.
The number one thing about it all is I am not going to dewell on it. I am going to treat it a lot like I do clusters.
It won't controll my life. I am going to enjoy as much of life as I can.

Cottie You got the right idea about camping. A camper you just open the door and walk in. If I hit the lotto I will buy us both one !

Elaine. I totally agree with you on being the author on how you want to live and die. Make sure you have a living will with respect to these things. VERY important. It should cover all aspects of how you want to be treated when you can't speak for yourself and who gets power of attorney. I work in the Heart Failure Clinic in this hospital and I see plenty of nightmares with people and their families when they get to the point they can't speak for themselves.

Heart failure is no fun... There are many things you can do to improve the quality of your life for the time you have left whether long or not. You had an echocardiogram which is checking the valves and structure of your heart.

Bypass surgery is amazing these days and not only buys time but quality of life. I see patients literally go home the next day with a new lease on life. So at least discuss the possibility of a cath and bypass if indicated in your case. The more info you have, the better you can make your personal decision.

Alright!! Another clusterhead with a bad ticker!! (SHIT!!) Svenn and I (and others) are proof that you CAN make it after a heart attack, or in my case several of them. BUT, do as I say, and not as I do ... Listen and follow the doctor's instructions.

Elaine you've taken care of sooo many of us over the years, not just our physical pain but also the pain of the heart. It is a shock to hear that someone like you have to suffer more.

I hope your feeling better and the ticker doesn't give you any more problems. I'm with you and Frank on the quality vs quantity and remember something George Carlin said recently. We shouldn't focus on how many breaths we take, but how many moments take our breath away. Now take it easy, relax and take care of yourself.
