Title: I got an appt with neuro this pm Post by rickyshot on Aug 11th, 2005, 8:28am My regular neuro is out of town. Thank God I work in this hospital. I called a neuro who knows me. He has seen me plenty of times in ER and agreed to see me at 1:00. Please let me hang on. Right now my eyes are burning particularly the right one and I have a shadow with extreme nausea on the usual left side over the ear. That is the side where I normally get my hits. What worries me is my right eye. It looks normal but tears and has pain particularly at 6:00 each nite for hours. Do any of you ever have this a ch cycle without the searing pain in your head but the eye business with shadows and generally feeling SHITTY. HELLLLLPPPPP |

Title: Re: I got an appt with neuro this pm Post by Frank_W on Aug 11th, 2005, 8:38am Well, help is on the way, because you have an appointment to be seen. Most of all, keep control of your breathing. When you're hurting, consciously relax; inhale, then exhale. As you gain control of your breathing, "unclench" inside. Quit fighting it. Take control back from the Beast. It may not make it hurt any less, but it will keep you from becoming mentally and spiritually exhausted. Hang in there, girl. [smiley=hug.gif] |

Title: Re: I got an appt with neuro this pm Post by rickyshot on Aug 11th, 2005, 9:13am Charlie. That is IT. And I never experienced anything on my right side before or a ping pong effect. OMG It is driving me crazy. Is it because of the summer we are having this year very high humidity and hot with a lot of barometric changes. The barometer is a trigger for me but I have always had only 2 episodes a year. Spring and late fall. WHY ME????? :( |

Yes. I do. [smiley=hug.gif] I give it my own name and call it a neuro event. I feel awful and sick. And it lasts for days. (I get Ch and migraines and funky hybrids of the two.) It might be that you are having symptoms from different HA types piling on each other. I'm very glad you are seeing a neuro today. Have you ever tried Phenergan for nausea? Smething you can ask the doc about. it's an anti-histamine(not used for that) that comes in pills and suppositories. Used for sedation, nausea..lots of things: http://www.drugs.com/phenergan.html please let us know how you make out .... you can do this! be well and PF! -lionsound |

Title: Re: I got an appt with neuro this pm Post by jcmquix on Aug 11th, 2005, 10:20am rickyshot.... Hey, I know how Crazy its making me, I had this same thing happen before, but its been a long time. My wife (Sassy_Lady) was wanting me to go to the Nero Dr, but like I told her, I know its just CH.... It is a litle better right now, but I took a couple of Ultrams (only Pain Killer I can take while in cycle) this morning and drank a large Mt.Dew (Caffine)... By all means if you have the Appt. with a Nero, get in there and see her/him... Its always good for them to see us in this condition... My current Nero Dr, says She has never seen anyone with CH before.... I warned her it was not pretty... Keep us posted and let me know what the Dr Says... Pain free Wishes for you !!! Charlie |

Title: Re: I got an appt with neuro this pm Post by SteCo on Aug 11th, 2005, 11:23am Hello Rickshot, I have read a few downing a Redbull to help w/ shadows. Also, and this may sound a little odd (it did to me), but a few others have tried it and the response has been rather surprising. Ginger. Here's an example excerpt from one response. I hope the author does not mind. This best explains how they are using it. Others' response mirror the good results. <snipage> "lingering shadows is to use powdered ginger. Just mix anywhere from half a teaspoon to a full teaspoon of powdered ginger in a bit of water. The ginger will not actually dissolve, but it will become suspended in the water. You have to kinda swirl it around a bit in the cup or glass as you drink it in order to get it all. Doesn't have the greatest taste. Wash it down with some orange juice or coke or even ginger ale. If it's going to work, it should work within fifteen minutes or so. The effects will last for two to four hours. In my experience, it will completely eliminate shadows and minor Kip level CH as long as you take it at the VERY FIRST SIGN of an impending attack. For minor shadows you don't even have to do that -- just take some every four hours or so and you're good all day" <end of snipage> I have not tried it yet, as I am out of cycle, but this will be added to my CH arsenal cabinet. The ginger may help with the nausea feeling (if it does not help with shadows), as it is utilized for motion/car sickness with success. YMMV but maybe worth a try?! SteCo |

Yes, yes, and double yes. The eye swells shut but the attack is over yet there is a lingering 'leave me alone, I don't feel good feeling'. I think some refer to it as a shadow. I call it living in a fog. I'm that way in the middle of my cycle for about 2 weeks. Anyone can look at me and see my eye is half way cracked open due to swelling. It feels sore to the touch too. I take a pain reliever for that type of 'inbetween hits' feeling. They make me able to function. I hope your appointment goes well. Good luck and sending you PF vibes.... |

Title: Re: I got an appt with neuro this pm Post by Frank_W on Aug 11th, 2005, 12:09pm When in cycle, I feel like I've been sunburned from the inside out. I feel awful, and I don't want to talk to anyone, don't want to see anyone, and all of my emotions are on a hair-trigger, especially the cluster-rage. :( |
