Title: Damn Verizon! Post by Drk^Angel on Aug 9th, 2005, 8:08am The dumb ass idiots that werk for Verizon Online are really pissing me off! They cut my DSL service on Wednesday for non-pay, so we call them on Thursday, and they tell us to pay the past due amount and we'll get our DSL back. I pay the bill on Friday morning, and collections removes the restriction from my account, but Verizon Online says it takes 24 to 48 "business hours" for their systems to update with the new information, so I should call back on Monday. I call back Monday to find that they've put my account into permanent disconnect, eventhough I had paid the bill. Wait... It gets worse... It will take 3 business days for total disconnect, then I can order new service which will take 5 to 7 business days to be installed (I was informed the earliest date they could schedule installation because of this bullshit would be August 26!) After half an hour on the phone with a "supervisor", she hangs up on me because she decided she had resolved the call (of course, I was in the middle of explaining to her that the issue was not resolved when she tried to interrupt me, then just hung up). I called back, talked to an agent that obviously didn't know her ass from a hole in the ground, and finally on the third request, was tranferred to another supervisor that at least seemed to be trying to help me, although now the earliest date I could have DSL service again is August 16. Damn bastards! So in case y'all was wonderin', I haven't been online because my DSL is gone, and my neighbor with an open wireless network seemed to be having his own problems with internet connectivity over the weekend. For now I'm borrowing bandwidth until Verizon gets off their lazy asses and gives me back DSL. Wonder what kinda of bullshit charges they're gonna try to screw up my bill with. C'est la vie... Title: Re: Damn Verizon! Post by cootie on Aug 9th, 2005, 8:05pm I went thru alot to get Verizon DSL but can't get it......had to talk to a tech support guy from Iraq or sumwhere 'over there' which was torture cuz I got so tired of sayin HUH ? Now I gotta send the stuff back and HOPE they don't charge me and argue about it......the phone co guy was out and said no way can I get it. I also had that BAD PHONE deal wit them... talked into a 149.00 phone and a 50 buck rebate and then realized with charges I knew NOTHING about and paid 200 to get it and tax ect ect and then nuther 300 bill.....total it ran me 900 bucks. Luckily I had Brad go to the office and take it back but got nuther bill cuz the girl forgot to cancel. Only got 15 days to get out of the contract or get charged 175.00 fee. They all suck......impersonal and just don't care people. Slow dialup is simpler and cord phones are cheaper Pam Screw em all.......... |

Title: Re: Damn Verizon! Post by Drk^Angel on Aug 11th, 2005, 6:41am Welp... Looks like I'm gonna have to call them again. They were supposed to call me when they finished submitting the order for new DSL service... Two days ago. One of two things prolly happened... They're too stupid to call back like they promissed... Or they never bothered to submit the order. Fun, fun, fun... And now I've got a shut-off notice for my phone line, which I don't want to pay until I get DSL service back, but I only have 4 days to pay it... They already screwed me out of over $200 by disconnecting my service after I paid the late charges... How do I know they won't do the same thing with my phone line??? All this fucking bullshit sucks... And just when I thought things were goin' to get better... LOL! PFDAN.............................. Drk^Angel |

Title: Re: Damn Verizon! Post by Sandy_C on Aug 11th, 2005, 8:36am >:( It's gotten so that all utilities, telephone, wireless, cable companies have become so bad with their customer service. Time Warner Cable is on my S**T list and has been for the last five years. My husband runs his business from our home and relies heavily on his computers. We had Time Warner Roadrunner for many years. We sold our house and planned to move into another old fixer-upper house (we called it our trash mansion), and called cable, 30 days in advance, to transfer everything to the new address, explaining that we needed to be up and running in fast so that Tarey wouldn't be out of business for more than one day. We were told that they needed to do a "field study" to see if cable was in the neighborhood (our new/old house was not wired for cable). Told them there were cable boxes in front of all of the other houses in the area, so cable was definitely available - noooo, they still have to do the study. Two weeks go by, no calls from Time Warner, so I call them - they can't find the paperwork of our request >:( but they will get to it immediately. Moving day, still no cable - still no field study. call - call - call - no response, no answers. We go out and buy a satellite, have it installed in one day, and finally we're up and running. Two weeks later, Time Warner calls - good news - we can hook you up! There's cable in your neighborhood, when would you like to set up the appointment? BITE ME! |

Title: Re: Damn Verizon! Post by Karla on Aug 11th, 2005, 7:56pm We had Verizon for cell phone and after our contract was up and we canceled service they continued to bill us. Then we started just getting $5 latebills for a few months. We finally after about 8 months got them to quit billing us and sending us stuff. There reception service sucked also. Never again with them. I sympathize with you deeply. I hope this will be resolved nicely for you soon. |

Title: Re: Damn Verizon! Post by Gator on Aug 12th, 2005, 4:56pm Here in Stillwater, America - I started with IOnet for my internet provider. The service was crappy to start and then got bad. I had trouble logging in and when I could get logged in would get kicked off frequently. Throughout many service calls they blamed my computer, my modem, my phone lines, my init string and me for my troubles. A friend of mine told me he had much the same trouble with this provider and suggested I switch to Bright Net. I used his account to see if there were any difference and low and behold, I got right in, my connect speeds were good and I never got booted. I switched providers the next day. The two or three complaints I have had in the last four years ended up being a problem with some numbnut cutting a phone cable either because he didn't call for a locate on the lines or was too dumb to pay attention to the little flags or something like that. |

Title: Re: Damn Verizon! Post by Drk^Angel on Aug 13th, 2005, 9:35am Still borrowing bandwidth... But at least is looks like they may have submitted my order, so now I just have to wait for their slow ass techs to bridge the signal back onto my line... Anyone else hear the Jeopardy theme?
