Title: Ain't politics grand? Post by Sandy_C on Aug 8th, 2005, 9:23am Jesse Jackson's New Staff Member Jessie Jackson has added former Chicago Democrat Congressman Mel Reynolds to Rainbow/PUSH Coalition's payroll. Reynolds was among the 176 criminals excused in President Clinton's last-minute forgiveness spree. Reynolds received a commutation of his six-and-a-half-year federal sentence for 15 convictions of wire fraud, bank fraud and lies to the Federal Election Commission. He is more notorious, however, for concurrently serving five years for sleeping with an underage campaign volunteer. This is a first in American politics: An ex-congressman who had sex with a subordinate ... won clemency from a president who had sex with a subordinate... then was hired by a clergyman who had sex with a subordinate. His new job? Ready for this?? *********YOUTH COUNSELOR******** IS THIS A GREAT COUNTRY OR WHAT? ;;D |

Title: Re: Ain't politics grand? Post by floridian on Aug 8th, 2005, 10:12am It doesn't inspire faith in their organization, but is small potato corruption compared to having traitors in the White House ... people who illegally revealed the identity of undercover CIA agents in an attempt to smear/punish critics of a flawed Iraq policy. Quote:
What happened to those conservatives who were making a ruckus about whitewater, travel-gate, or Miss Monica?? Strange silence when politicians betray their country for partisan reasons. And the pledge to fire anyone who leaked such information transmutated into a delaying tactic of pass-the-buck to the prosecutor; if the leak is found to be illegal, then the leaker is out of there. Yes, Bush flip-flops and shows his true character. Loyalty to his co-conspirators who lied us into a war is more important than loyalty to country and principles. Ain't politics grand?? |

Title: Re: Ain't politics grand? Post by vig on Aug 8th, 2005, 10:47am Integrity and honesty are not important to those in charge now.... as long as you have CONVICTION! Is anyone starting to see why faith has to be separated from government, or no? |

Well, the opinion on that question will vary, but what I DO think needs to end, is career politics as well as elimination of all political media spending. I think they should get an allotted equal time on air, radio and print. That's it. Money really has no business in politics other than for programs to help the people, regardless of what you believe. Title: Re: Ain't politics grand? Post by maffumatt on Aug 8th, 2005, 11:33am Mr. Rove has told investigators that he learned from the columnist the name of the C.I.A. officer, who was referred to by her maiden name, Valerie Plame, and the circumstances in which her husband, former Ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, traveled to Africa to investigate possible uranium sales to Iraq, the person said. After hearing Mr. Novak's account, the person who has been briefed on the matter said, Mr. Rove told the columnist: "I heard that, too." The previously undisclosed telephone conversation, which took place on July 8, 2003, was initiated by Mr. Novak, the person who has been briefed on the matter said. Six days later, Mr. Novak's syndicated column reported that two senior administration officials had told him that Mr. Wilson's "wife had suggested sending him" to Africa. That column was the first instance in which Ms. Wilson was publicly identified as a C.I.A. operative Who is more traitorous, a name mentioned in a conversation or the liberal paper who printed it? |
