Title: Crash Landing in Toronto! Post by Carl_D on Aug 2nd, 2005, 6:01pm Surpsrisingly, no fatalities. Thank God http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8801092/ Now for those who pray, say one for the astronauts as they attempt repairs to make a safe re-entry. Peace, Carl D |

Title: Re: Crash Landing in Toronto! Post by Grandma_Sweet_Boy on Aug 2nd, 2005, 6:40pm This happened about 10 minutes from my office. Apparently an Air France plane was coming in for landing and was down and then struck by lightning. He lost all power, went off the end of the runway, and then went down into a ravine. No fatalities at all - thank God and only about 14 people taken to hospital - they've said no serious injuries. That pilot did one hell of a job - he was not very far from a major highway lined with rush hour traffic. |

Title: Re: Crash Landing in Toronto! Post by burnt-toast on Aug 2nd, 2005, 6:59pm No fatalities? Amazing what folks survive when the big ticket puncher doesn't want to make it our last stop. God, provide the shuttle crew with the knowledge and skills necessary for their safe return. Tom |

Title: Re: Crash Landing in Toronto! Post by catlind on Aug 3rd, 2005, 7:50am I had family on a plane on the runway when that happened. They are visiting from England and were trying to get from Toronto to Sarnia. They had to take a bus, all flights were cancelled. It's a testament to the crew and pilot that all turned out as well as it did. Cat |
