Title: Off to meet more CH'ers!
Post by LeLimey on Aug 1st, 2005, 4:10pm
Hurray! I can't wait!

No its not hdido but I did want to let you all know I was absent in case anyone put two and two together, remembered him saying he would be in Nottingham, realised I wasn't here and made five!

Two more hours and we are setting off for bonny Scotland!
David has to deliver a hovercraft so we are going up as well and taking the kids over to a little island where they film a kids TV series here called Balamory which Jasper adores.
A UK ch'er lives there so we are going to meet up and I'm trying to get hold of Scott, who you all know here as Highlander so we can meet up with him on the way back through Glasgow too.. Scott if you see this it would be Wednesday evening NOT Tuesday evening!! I'm a muppet!
I shall be back on Thursday so look after yourselves, be painfree and don't do anything l wouldn't do.. ::)
Oh and ladies.. give 'em hell! Make me proud!

Take some of the real delicacy of Scotland, stomach linings filled with cooked blood and oatmeal, they'll LOVE it!

Episode 193 (con'd)

LeLimey, realising her lists will never bring her the joys she hoped, flees to Scotland to avoid a former lover she knows will be visiting soon.

There's also talk of a tryst with tall, dark and handsome highlander, Scotty.

She takes along her unsuspecting husband and children while hinting she'll be returning alone, only to travel on to the wilds of America bearing gifts for strangers who annually take part in wierd pagan rituals.

Stay tuned for more excitement in "Helen Beyond"!

Don't think I could eat it.  :P  But if I had enough scotch in me, I might eat anything.  ;;D

Ok so I've to get myself to Glasgow on Wednesday evening now!! Perfect! Try and get the afternoon off work!

Haggis should only be eaten with copious (sp?) amounts of 18year old island Malts inside (to warm things up abit)

Frank,

Haggis is a used in Scotland to make kids eat there greens!!!! It really isn't the greatest of meals!

It tastes nice around once a year although to be fair! I don't really remember those nights to well!!! to much amber nectar! Although it does start with some poetry! and all ends with a hazy fuzzy feeling! ::)

got to dig my Kilt out for tomorrow! Helen Likes her men well dressed. :o ;;D

LMAO, Highlander... In all fairness, when someday I travel to Scotland, I will definitely try all of the local dishes. Hell, if I can eat sashimi and sushi and pickled tentacles with suckers still on them, and fish hearts that are still beating when you put them in your mouth, there's really nothing in the culinary world that can intimidate me.  [smiley=laugh.gif]

Scott

What are you thinking of, what about the neeps?

W

A good haggis is quite nice really, most culinary nations have a version of something similar, black pudding, boudin noir etc, bet there is an American version somewhere too!

Well that was a trip and a half.. just over 1500 miles in total! We drove all the way up to a place called Uig which is at the top of the Isle of Skye (which I think is north of the north pole but I could be exaggerating a wee bit! ;) )
I'll tell you one thing for nothing. There is loads of scenery there. Its all over the place. Everywhere you look. Scenery. Surprised someone hasn't thought of flogging it on Ebay..
And weather!! Blimey.. I have never in my life seen weather change so fast. We needed to have the wiper going on one side of the car but not the other.. most confusing. We saw Loch Lomond, Loch Ness, The Isles of Skye and Mull, Ben Nevis and Glen Coe, Eilean Donan Castle and met two other ch'ers.. a busy trip!
One of the other ch'ers posts here and you all know him. Its our very own Highlander and ladies.. let me tell you our Scott  puts the F in PHWOARRRR!!!  ;) He is gorgeous! I've only got one photo for you and David took that so its not as "interesting" or "informative" as one I would have taken for my sisters but if you want any forther info see me after class! ;) He is lovely (single) with a great sense of humour (did I mention single) and my kids absolutely loved him (How he is single is beyond me  [smiley=huh.gif] ) If I was 15 years younger... *sigh*.. whoops sorry David! Forgot you were here! :-[
If you want to see the pics (ladies scroll to the bottom of the page go here and its the "Scotland" sub-section surprisingly enough!!
