DJ wants to know when Hdido (John) acts up again.

I want to know if you want him gone now?

Woobie and DD

He has a lot of incarnations (Even likened himself to Satan in that respect on one thread!) he will love this totally by the way.

You will find two of his multiple personalities in the Jane Fonda thread (he is hdido there) and alson on Mia's "No longer chronic" thread as PCMCCK. He was previously at least John Shockorod and John in NYC as well. He calls me a liar when I say this but he Im'ed me and told it to me.

Sad little f*cker will adore all this, but I think we should make it as hard as possiible for him to troll and insult people here. We banned him from OUCH UK and he says he has returned as someone else, but frankly I am dying for a fucking fight at the moment so bring it on John!

I had to think about this because of the fact he attacked me personally.
My vote isn't based on how he treated me, I can take it right on the chin, my vote is based on the impression he gives to new people who come to the site, desperate, scared and confused and are confronted by him and his vitriol. My vote is based on the threads he has hijacked and poinsoned on the cluster specific and meds and therapies boards. What goes on here on the genral board is fair game in my opinion.

Ban him.

Title: Re: Vote him off?
Post by burnt-toast on Jul 31st, 2005, 7:48pm
Regardless of agreeing or disagreeing with some posts/posters, I try to respect others.

An open arguement is acceptable but pointless/deliberate personal attacks that reflect total lack of respect for others are not.

I haven't been around all that long but my vote is to Remove.  More than a fine line was crossed in some of his posts.  In the interim I ignore his posts, I hope he gets some help.

Weren't there a number of personal attacks on him that were later removed? I hope DJ keeps logs and applies the rules evenly.

Saying "Your an idiot." is different from saying "You're ideas are idiotic." One deserves a warning then banning while the other doesn't.

Where are the terms of usage for the board?

Edit: BTW, there is no excuse in what he posted. Whether he was attacked personally or not.

Wendy, I think you can remove your posts. Never done it but there is a "remove" button. I recall him getting beat up pretty badly by others in the thread. No excuse, but that is what I recall.

Thanks Purpleydog, but usually boards have a list of rules when posting. "You agree not to use the boards to...blah, blah, blah." It helps so people know what they can and can't do. I was looking for it, so we could read the rules and say "he broke this rule, the TOU says it means a banning". No need for a vote that way.

There have been plenty of other posts by other people who have toe'd the line.

IMO, I would have banned him long ago, like when he was PCCMCK, or whatever it was. It's one thing to disagree with someone's post, and ridicule their political views (or religious, or whatever), and it's another to insult the people who are members of my family.

I am all for free speech, and people can say anything they want. But, they must be willing to handle the consequences that result from what they say. Maybe he will delete himself again, like he did when he was PCCMCK. And save DJ the trouble.

There is something that says something like that here somewhere, I have seen it. But this site doesn't have hard and fast rules. And if it did, I think a lot of people wouldn't be here anymore, me included.

CH.com is one of the most liberal sites I've seen, as far as allowing people to post whatever they want. That is part of why the general board got moved down the list, and is no longer the first thing new people see when they get here. This was back in January, and there was some stuff going on at the time, flame wars, and I'm sure any newby would think twice before joining up. Of course, it always pays to lurk and read. But still, you must have thick skin to hang out here.

Throw him off! block his IP and be done with it!

Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing, but insulting others is not. >:(

I have seen here people posting opinions I don't agree with but I have respected their opinions. It's possible to disagree in agreement. But the person who we are discussing now has made cruel personal attacks on other posters. He has made comments, which are far from respect.

I did not see his comments when he wrote them but thanks to the links I've read them now. And I am outraged for my family! How can someone post such hurtful things?  :o

We're here to support each other. And clearly he is not doing that. I don't know if banning him helps, but hopefully that punishment would show him that although this board has been very patient with him, this board does have its limit. So, my answer is "Yes".

IF you can't ban his IP and keep him off (if he has a static IP, that's easy enough done.  Or, and I don't know this type of board that well, ban his e-mail addy).  Otherewise, IGNORE him, if he posts, pretend you didn't see it.  If he's shunned long enough, he will quit posting.

Holy moly! Leave town for a few days and come back to realize that somehow my CH message board website got its wires crossed with the WWF website and IP addresses confused with the Talk Back to Jerry Springer message board.

After reviewing the posts I would go along with what has been prevailing opinion for some time: the guy is the kind of sicko that will come back anyway in a wig, dress and high heels.

Let him stay where we can keep a monitoring leg bracelet on him and hound him every time he appears. Or maybe we can set up a special folder that acts as "cage" for him and when anyone is in a grumpy mood we just go in and poke him. I'd much rather deal with the idiot I know than have to go through the whole process of trying to figure out whether to delineate whether some new poster is just an idiot or really a sicko like Hdido or PCMMK or whatever.

My vote is keep him and hard code a "I'm an idiot, Kick me!" on his identity.

Casey I think you are bang on the money. You have hit all of my reservations on the head.
1, I think he will be right back with a new name and a new IP if in fact he hasn't got one in reserve already which I suspect.
2, On OUCH UK he was asked repeatedly to change his ways.. both on the boards, in pm's, by phone and email. By both the members and trustees. He would swing from being violently offensive to ingratiating within the space of two posts, it was dizzying to see.  Eventually the trustees decided he couldn't be allowed to continue with his abusive behaviour to other members which wasn't restricted to the message boards. He was also emailing and telephoning people. They decided to restrict his membership and not allow him use of the message boards. He in return asked for a refund of his unused portion of membership fee which was duly despatched.
I say all this because he has no wish to be part of an organisation which supports people who have cluster headaches and which sends out newsletters etc. He purely wants an internet based service which when he has it he abuses. He has proved that time and again here. He has proved it on ouchuk.
I odn't know what the answer is. I don't think its a decision that should be taken lightly. I think he is a hydra.

Ive seen others here identical to him. Maybe even the same person under a different name. I've also seen many others like him who definately aren't the same person.

There are others who should have been "voted off" long ago but for some reason are still around. (You know who you are.)

I say ban them all.

There are a lot of us who joke around and it is always obvious when this is happening but when someone we don't know comes around talking $hit about our members or acting abusive/threatening/gossiping/etc,,, BOOT their sorry a$$es. All they are doing is trying to stir up $hit.

Title: Re: Vote him off?

Ok laugh if you will, and you probably will but here goes anyway.

For him, it, whatever. BOOT ... I know I stir sh1t too but I have never intentially set out to hurt anyone.  I know we all suffer here In 1 degree or another. I know that at least for me these jokes and jabs help, but the straight out insult and try to degrade another is way beyond what most of us would consider tolerable. I and others have had Moments of lashing out but usually when we catch our selves we usually sorry up or at least try not to make it degrade to personal insults and then try to keep it going. We usually back away from the keyboard. I mean look at the Men unite and the LeLimeys list threads ... That is a perfect example of how to vent and keeping it civil. We are all her because of a condition that is beyond our control, And we all know each others pain. If this guy from what I have read from him isn't a CH or supporter then we need to find a way th make him vanish. Maybe we could try to ignore him, but honestly I think he will just annoy everyone till we all start back at him again. ok done ranting for now back to bashing and getting bashed.

Title: Re: Vote him off?

Ghost..

Your post count says it all. Is that over 800? It's pretty obvious when you start stirring it up that it's not meant to harm any one. You've been here long enough and helped enough people out that we see it for what it is. I don't see you as a $hit stirrer at all.

I'm contributing as much as anyone else to the men unite thread. I'm sure I have half of the 'clutter head' babes here pissed at me by now but I'm also pretty sure that they know that I'm joking. ( You do know don't you? )

I was talking about people who create an account and then come in here with long rants about various controversial things and then procede to grill/threaten/ostracize anyone who has a differing opinion.

Title: Re: Vote him off?
Post by clarence on Aug 1st, 2005, 10:19am
If getting kicked out is what he wants, if this is how he gets his...whatever, then why reward poor behavior?  Especially if he is going to come back in drag, as seasonalboomer colorfully pointed out, them create a special rank for his account, and label him a troll, postwh0re, idiot, or whatever.

The problem is that this doesn't get rid of the abusive behavior, and it doesn't help the new people who come here and see his crap.

Funny how he hasn't chimmed in on this thread.  Not to defend himself or anything.  He is probably sitting back, watching it, and...

Nevermind.

I don't think that I have been a member of this board long enough to case a vote on this, so I will abstain - with comments.

I do agree with some of the things he said in his posts - some.  However, I absolutely will not tolerate his (or anyone else's) personal attacks on others. That is unacceptable behavior.

It's absolutely fine to have differences of opinions, and all opinions can be freely expressed (that's called Freedom of Speech).  But, if you cannot state your opinions in a civilized, respectful manner, then you should not take offense when your opinions are ignored by others or draw the wrath of others.  I draw the line at name calling, religion bashing, race bashing, any kind of bashing, and I definitely detest seeing really foul language used on a message board.  Don't get me wrong.  I can, and do swear like a sailor, but not in print on a public board.

Yes Ban him, and delete all of his posts. Ban his IP, just to show him you mean business. Unfortunately he will be back and will probably be using a proxy, that is if he isn't already. He will have a new email address, and a new name.

He is an Internet troll (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll), trolls fish with posts ( trolling) to get newbies and others to answer him. That is all he is looking for, he counts how many answers he gets to each post, the more replies he gets the happier he is. All he wants is to get replies nothing else matters so the way to beat them is

Not to feed the trolls

Ignore them no matter what they say, don't answer them, don't PM them, don't email them and they will go away. There will always be new trolls all the time, and probably more if they get ignored and this site is put on the trolling boards as hard to crack. Lets all show them that we will not feed them anymore. Remember a troll post without replies defeats the troll.

Newbie view here (by post count anyway) - I tend to agree with AussieBrian and some of the others. This individual may or may not have or be associated with the suffering of cluster attacks. He has crossed some lines clearly. Never the less, a kind word from some may be what is needed. Finally, most regulars here know this place is not about censorship. Hey - did I just advocate the posting of profane and perverse/offensive dialog? Nah! Besides, when was the last time so many have had so much to poke at with their sticks? Wait, don't answer that - please! ;;D

Modified for spelling and to aknowledge - it seems way too many lines were crossed.

Do you mean like when he asked me what it was like to be fucked in the ass or when he asked Helen if it took ten tents to make her dress...or maybe when he asked Carrie if she swallowed....is that the kind word you talk of?

And that is not the half of it!!

Jonny you forgot the worst one, the UNFORGIVEABLE one.
When he asked Mia if there really was a D and if he really had CH or if she had Munchausens and kept him locked up?
Now you read THAT.. and you can go and read that on page 14 of the "no longer chronic thread" on the meds and therapies board..  and THEN decide if he is worth a kind word.

Sorry stress free, I've modified this to add I'm not having a dig at you, I'm sorry if it sounded like that. That particular comment of his really got to me though

My personal opinion - remove him because he's crossed the line too far and too many times....
and DJ does send people IMs when they're out of line, right? If, despite DJ's IMs, he's still insulting and defaming and all that crap, then he needs to go... and he certainly doesn't sound like a CHer or supporter to me, considering his behavior.

Seeing that I know all the folks here I know when someone is joking around and when someone is being a nasty MF'er....I always bring those posts to DJ's attention....after that, its his call.

Dude,
(and dudesses)
I dont know this person, and only read a little of the 1st post jonny linked to.  I didnt catch any personal attacks in that one, but i cant believe that he thinks that reports of a med that did not help are frowned upon.  That is probably the most used cliche here "different things work on different people......try some popular meds and go from there....."
To say that someone would be frowned upon by saying shrooms didnt have an effect is the exact opposite of the truth.

But seriously, i dont care if you like anal sex, or if anyone swallows.......did he really say that about using tents to make a dress?
That is outright cruel.......something us CHers dont need in our time of need.
My 2 cents?  he was told to stop. If he did not stop, boot him.  If he has not been saying hurtful things since he was told to stop, he did what he was told...let him stay.

before I responded to this I went back through and read the past threads from this individual. His attempts at intellect were sad at best. His total hypocrycy in the way he attacked people I consider family totally out of line. I know I haven't been a member very long here but I would vote him off. Anyone can say what they will about me but not my family. I've had family die for peoples rights to say what they will, but not to use words to hurt just for the sake of cheap parlor room entertainment. I love the heated debates posted on this board, they give me something to hang onto. This person just stoops to the low level of a playground bully.

You have made an error...I have not been posting nor using another identitity.  "Happeh" is not me and I hope, for your sake and the sake of others coming to this board for help or whatever, that because of your disagreements with me you do not attack people whom you think are me just because their views may differ from yours.  I think that "Happeh" is owed an apology.

By the way, the crude sexual remarks used to attack me are far worse than anything that I have posted, in terms of language and I think that they reflect on the people making such remarks; you have some sort of problem, either limited writing skills or the remarks are a reflection of some part of you.

I will now apologize to those whom I offended by initiating a personal, inappropriate comment to and I would hope that those of you who did the same to me would apologize as well.  I will not apologize to, though I regret sinking to the same level as, those who used obscene language towards me first due to a disagreement with my opinions.

With regards to Helen and Carrie, if you care to examine the posts, you will see that I was attacked first; again, I do regret responding in kind though I believe that I had every right to do so, but shall ignore such posts in the future.

I must admit that I am amazed at the obsession with my supposed sexual behaviour.  To those who have a continuing need to comment on sexual matters, look to yourself and perhaps find out why this need exists.

But If I am correct and I am You dragged me in by calling me a racist and refering to a joke posted on another thread. Dont think that just because you are trying to smooth it over it will work. The attack on Helen was totally uncalled for, she did not attack you first, all she did was disagree with you. If that is an attack then we all seem to be attacking each other everytime we dissagree. Figure it out Dude we will sometimes dissagree it doesnt mean we hate each other it only means we dont see the issue the same. Like I said in the other thread I will not ever cut you a break and your apology is NOT accepted by me. You dont know me and calling me a racist was way out of line and FALSE. I take that personally because of the way you dragged me in totally unprovoked.

You're very sick and you need help, and the help you need doesn't come from an O2 tank or Imitrex injector. nope, no way.

i see this thread as Iraq, and hdido as an insurgent. i'd rather drag him to this folder and fight him here than have him lurking on threads where important issues regarding CH are discussed.

Boomer I have to agree we need to pull the lurkn piece of garbage into here and start collecting all the trash, then burn it.
I went over the jane fonda thread again to ensure what happened and at least in my opinion hdildo made the first assault on jonny, then randomly went after others. If he doesnt think we will stand by each other then he is sadly mistaken. I wasn't really to upset about the unsolicited attack on me but when he went after Helen directly for stating he opinion that was the line that I needed to dig into him. Then I heard about the attack on the other threads it was on and there will not nor can there be forgiveness. We may bicker sometimes but to insult without regard for the person is unforgivable. I think he doesnt realize these are real people on here, I think he must believe this is some kind of computer generated altered reality zone or something. I would hope someone cant really be that disturbed to really believe the crap he spews, then again there must be those types and we will just have to bust there chops at every given chance.

Well I hope this made sense, dont want the grammer cops after me.

Mike

I must admit that I am amazed at the obsession with my supposed sexual behaviour.  To those who have a continuing need to comment on sexual matters, look to yourself and perhaps find out why this need exists.

I have been personally attacked by some of the most respected longest posting folks here. I want justice. I want someone else to control the content of my monitor to protect my emotional well being. I cannot rely on my point and clicker to filter out unwanted black squiggles on my screen. So it goes.

That said...I vote yes. Kill him. Break his mouse and keyboard...

I'm personally NOT worried about censorship or witch hunts, ....i never think or type socially unaceptable stuff....or if i do...i make sure i put a smiley on the front of my hood.

This is very true. The troll... I mean hidi-didee-hoe will try anything possible to get us all at each others throats.

Don't let it happen. Don't listen to him/her. Don't believe a word he/she says. If you get a private message, post it here for all to see what kind of garbage this person is trying to spread.

I can't paste all of hdido's IM's/emails to me on here as they are far too long and rambling, but essentially in his last a few days ago he called me a liar, a drunk and in need of psychiatric help.

The liar bit was because I posted that he had admitted to me via IM that he was PCMCK (or whatever the collection of initials was) he seemed to have conveniently forgotten that he did so.

He had been sending friendly IM's and emails asking for help contacting Zazi in Italy as he thought I had her private contact details. He then sent me a rambling and unpleasant message about Mia, also saying that in his view many of you on here have a big drink problem. When I messaged him to say that I thought his comments about Mia were some of the nastiest I had ever seen on ch.com in years, he went very quiet and stopped trying to ingratiate himself.

Not heard anything much recently other than the IM mentioned above, but I tend to agree that I would rather have nasty messages posted on here than receive Im's and would prefer to "know where he was".

Wendy

and John, don't bother trying to deny any of this as you know it is all true and I would hope the one thing you do have is honesty.
