Title: it worked for me Post by giorgio on Jul 29th, 2005, 3:56am hello all ch members i have been suffering from ch for the past 14 years. it all started at the age of 23 yrs. I went to a neurologist at the end of my cycle at that time and he gave me the news about my ch and he said that it might recurr next year or it will disappear. well it faded for about 2 years and then it appeared again on my left side for periods that lasted 1 month each cycle. then the cycle would go for 2 years and come back again untill recently when i started to suffer yearly attacks where in each cycle i will reach a point in time that i prefer to die rather than suffering these killing attacks. during each attack i reached the level of taking 10 to 14 (advil, tylenol, paracetamol and cafergot) and each attack will last about 2 hours. this year i decided to try something new:before going to bed i will take 2 solpadeine and then 1 hour in my sleep (like always) i wake up with the attack and take another 2 solpadeine and start applying ice packs on my head and my eye orbit , the pain lasted for 1.5 hours but with bearable pain, until I decided to apply the ice pack to my neck all the way from behind my ear down to my shoulder and u cannot imagine how helpful it was . the pain is reduced within the hour and i could get back to sleep with some shadows and dizziness but what a relief. |

Title: Re: it worked for me Post by brainfreeze on Jul 29th, 2005, 11:31am I'm glad the cold ice trick worked for you. I'm into my 2nd week of the battle for this year (16 yrs running) and they've escalated to a 10. I finally got to sleep positioned like a can opener on the floor in front of the fan. One leg stretched out, the other leg curled up, butt up in the air, head pressed down hard on the carpet. The best sleep I've had in 13 days!!! The beast got a real kick out of it, I'm sure |
