Title: F#$*ing POST OFFICE
Post by rextangle on Jul 27th, 2005, 6:21pm
Damn, I hate them!!!! Motherf@ckers!!!!

We won this great top of the line computer on Ebay from some decent guy. He's been great with emails and communication. But he picked the fucking post office to ship it. It's been over a week, he sent me the tracking number, but the m*th*rf**k*rs have this "track and notify" page that doesn't work.

It says that it will be updated when I sign for the package.
THAT DOES NOT DO ME ANY FUCKING GOOD!!!!

So, I found a number to call and first you have to go through all these fucking menus by talking to a fucking robot that couldn't give a shit.

Finally I managed to get this woman on the phone who told me that it's all electronic (no shit Sherlock!) and that she couldn't help me... so I asked "Who can help me?"

She said, look at the website or contact the sender.
I told her I did, but she kept repeating herself like the goddamn robot I had to talk to earlier, then the fucking bitch hung up on me!! GGGGGGRRRRRRRR [smiley=bigguns.gif]

FUUUUUUCK!!!!! I nearly broke my phone in a zillion pieces after she hung up....

FUCK THE POST OFFICE !!! FUCK THEM!!!!! FUCK THEM!!!!

I HATE THE FUCKING POST OFFICE!!!!!! >:(

I WILL NEVER USE THEM EVER AGAIN!!!!

EMAIL OR UPS, that's it!!!

FUCK THEM!!!

Ok... I fell better now... M'gonna get stoned now!

FUUUUUUUUCK THEEEEEM!!!!!!!

Take your tracking number to the local post office. Don't let them see the crazed look in yer eyes. Paste on a grin. Ask them to track the fucking thing for ya.

Leave your gun at home.   ;;D

Next time, use UPS, and if you can ship it to where you work, yer that much better off.

Fedex sucks IMHO. I wouldn't use them if they were the last delivery service on the planet. And free...

I'm usually not one to harken back to the good old days but don't you just love it when you have to go through phone menus that ask you to do all the work for them so they don't have to pay someone medical benefits and Social Security? The days of personal service are gone. http://www.kolobok.wrg.ru/smiles/madhouse/telephone.gif?SSImageQuality=Full

Those jobs never paid much but provided some needed employment for poor people. The level of greed in this country is at unimagined levels. Whatever happened to social conscience?

The other thing that really gets to me is that the days of postpaid envelopes are gone too......except for when they are selling something. Some companies and especially doctors provide no envelope at all.  http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/furious.gif

I would notify ebay!  Have them check the guys "feeback" because sometimes it's not legit.  People create fake accounts to give themselves high feedback and trick people into buying from them because "you can trust me, I have 100% feedback."  and then they scam you.

It's happend to quite a few people that I know....I don't trust ebay one bit.  Any site that allows you to sell a cornflake that looks like abe lincoln isn't a place I want to shop from.

Hope it works out for you!

Title: Re: F#$*ing POST OFFICE
Post by cootie on Jul 27th, 2005, 11:20pm
I had my account stolen on ebay for a brief amount of time and the guy used my feedback and name to basically advertise a high priced item them PULL IT when he got some interested emails......I found out when someone emailed me askin where the item went and that they were very interested in it. Was a projector starting bids at 6,000 bucks !!!! The guy apparently acted as if he had pulled it from the sale to sell privately and the people thought they were gettin a deal but THAT was his plan. I turned it into ebay and had gotten charged 70 bucks for advertiseing and got that cleared off. Then the buyer emailed me again the same exact item was back on ebay.....same item same picture......I notified ebay. I even emailed the seller askin why he used my account and he told me I was nuts. It was the SAME ITEM sittin on a box with duct tape on it and yukky cream curtains in the background and some wierd lamp. I been gettin too much spoof mail thru ebay and even now from paypal with some of my credit card numbers......that is kinda scarey. Buy sell scam Pam

Yep, I get about 20 of those "official" ebay emails a day!  They all want the same thing, for me to verify my account...I closed my account like 3 years ago!
They scarey thing is that they really do look like they are official because of the ebay logo and everything they use.  In reality, ebay is probably the most hacked site on the net.  Buyers beware!

Are you sure you want use UPS? Here's what the box that contained the last guitar I bought looked like when it got to my house.

Notice the big gaping hole under the word 'Fragile'. There were holes like this on all sides of the box and packing peanuts falling out the bottom where it got blown open too. I emailed a complaint to them and got back a form letter basically telling me that all packages are treated the same and putting a Fragile sticker on it makes no difference.

If not for some incredible packing by the seller, I would have had a bunch of guitar parts to sell on EBay instead of a playable guitar.

People just don't give a $hit about anything any more.

That's a 1983 Kramer Focus 2000 with all chrome hardware. I replaced the pickups with EMGs a few weeks ago.

I'm up to 3 Kramers, 1 Charvell, 1 Gibson SG, 5 assorted acoustic guitars, and a partridge in a pear tree.

My wife told me that we don't have room for any more guitars now. I guess it's time to build another addition. ::)

Rex... I hope you get stuff straightened out with the computer. I know how much it sucks to wait a long time after you pay for something. It took close to 2 weeks for that guitar to get to me. I could have walked from N/W Indiana to Wisconsin and picked it up myself in that amount of time.

Hang in a few more days and if you don't hear anything, contact EBay.

I bought 2 shot glasses off ebay and the seller shipped them via usps, I bought the shipping insurance but when the glasses arrived they were broken. I took them to the post office, they examined the box and contents and told me it was packaged wrong and they wouldn't pay for it. It was packaged fine, the post office is just like every other part of our government, Crooked, Cheatin little bastards.

Get this:  Some guy out in WA orders a pair of $14 Timberwolves sleep shorts for his son? at another address.  The outside package label has ouir name and address on it.  The inside has their stuff and return labels on it.  We were disapointed to say the least after all we were expecting a Brette Farve replica jersey.  I call up the NFL.COM pro shop and explain what happened.  They explain they are and overall company incharge of like 4 different sports.  They say to use the return lable and send it back to them.  Then they will contact this dude to see if he got our stuff buy mistake.  If he did they will ask him to mail it back in to them.  Then they will mail the Packers jersey to us.  Is been 2 1/2 weeks and now nfl.com doesn't even show us having an account with them to track the movemement and all this is already paid for.  My husband called them up last night.  Talked to a manager and our jersey is on the way today since it was paid for there should be no hold up we were told.  Yeah!  Praying for an early arrival and no more mess ups!  I deffently understand your frustration.

It's up to the person shipping to package the item appropriately. Yer right, the shipping companies pay no attention to fragile stickers. I don't really think any of them ever did... it takes up to much time, and time = $.

I've shipped all kinds of things, I'm a packaging freak. I use a shit load of bubble wrap, and larger air bags. I've never had anything arrive broken that I've shipped, even though the box may have been damaged.

I wouldn't use packing peanuts for a guitar though, that just ain't right. Good thing it arrived safely.

I'm also a packaging freak. I sell a lot of computer stuff and guitar parts on EvilBay and have never had anything damaged in shipment.

The guy who packed that guitar did a great job. He put it in an old beat up case even thought I purchased it without a case. He stuck that case inside another box with packing peanuts around the case. He also had those little air bags inside the case surrounding the guitar.

If not for his packing style, I would have wound up with a broken, unplayable pile of vintage guitar parts.

I've also learned that putting a sticker that says 'Fragile' on your package is an open invitation to the shippers to try and destroy it.

Yeah, i had that same problem when i had something shipped to me.  Their tracking system said that the sender notified them that he would like to send a package, but it didnt even say that the package was picked up.  For 2 weeks the thing just said the sender notified them that he would like to send a package.
They do suck pretty bad.  If you are gonna have an online tracking system, why not put pertinent information in it?

The post office helps people get your credit card information. They are all the time giving my credit card bills to a neighbor.  I get most all my statements on line now, safer than the post office here. I hate to use the USPO for any thing.

I don't use USPS for packages, so I wouldn't know about that.  I do know I wouldn't ship a computer via UPS to anyone.  When I was managing a computer store, the owners liked to use UPS 'cause they were cheaper than FedEx.  I had lots of stuff come in looking like someone had tried to kick a field goal with the boxes.  Had computers arrive that had been dropped so hard, the cdrom drive guts fell down out of their case.  I never had anything come in from FedEx damaged.

Ok guys, thanks for all your concern and comments.
I'm 100% positive that the seller is being honest. He called us yesterday and as we were talking he took a picture (he has no scanner at home) of the receipt and emailed it to us.
He felt sorry for using the "fucking postal service", but he was trying to save us money on shipping.
Apparently when you ship something parcel, it can take for-fuckin-ever to get there.
He insured it, and he's being really decent about this.
If I don't get that PC soon, we WILL get our money back.

Looking at my original post, I realize that I had a totally punk-rock moment with my "FUCK THE FUCKING POST OFFICE" rants.... LMAO [smiley=laugh.gif]

But from now on, I will always refer to USPS as "The Fucking Post Office"...

Rex,
I am in the same boat as you. I bought a new to me mother board, and the tracking says all they know is that it was requested for pickup. I guess it is only for the senders use so they know the person got the package. I usually send priority as it is only a few cents more on larger stuff. I can't wait for this to come becouse this slow HP motherboard is driving me crazy :P

By they way which distro are you running? I am using Ubuntu for my desktop and so far it rocks. I hope you aren't using that alternative OS, I hear they release beta and actually try to sell it.

I can't wait to be able to use my PIII 800 mhz again, this 400 PII is driving me nuts.

That sounds like a fast machine, my dream machine at one time was dual xeons with a gig of Rimms and scuzzy drives, glad you didn't get ripped, I wouldn't dare to buy something that expensive on ebay.

I hear you Paul. I bought a computer on Ebay and the guy tried to screw me. After six months and getting everyone I could think of invoved I got my money back. I said I would show up in court, they where going to pay me .38 a mile both ways plus motel and meals. I live 1200 miles away, one way. He paid me pretty quick after he found that out. Scumbag, I still want to pay him a visit someday.

BTW Ebay sucks when it comes to things like this. Live and learn.
