88 degrees on my way in to work this morning at 7:30.
On my way home a couple days ago, I saw one bank sign that read 103 degrees.

Supposed to go over 100 today and for the next 3 days.

We have an excessive heat advisory right now. http://www.weather.com/weather/alerts/?alertId=48428&dbSeq=null

I like this kind of weather but I feel really bad for the people who can't handle it.

It's been this way here for the last few weeks and on top of that, we haven't had much measurable rain all summer. It rains hard all around us but this area gets nothing but a few drops and some lightning.

Heat index for today predicted to be 114.
Humidity is at 68% right now.

Yesterday was a nice summer day, 93 degrees.
Today, though, its raining and gonna only be a max of 80 degrees, and 267% humidity, topping out at about 290%.
Thats summer in the great pacific northwest.

Here on the Eastern coast of Africa it is midwinter.  Brrrrrrr...

We only have temperatures of between 95 and 113 F now with near to no rain and even less rain in summer.

Our Christmas will always be sunny and bright and Father Christmas' transport varies from a donkey cart to a genuine 4x4.

86 degrees right now, and the low tonight is supposed to be 61 degrees.  That's in central WI.

I'm soooo sick of it being over 90 around here everyday so anything lower is welcome!

Yeah.....I know the feeling.  I get so upset because I can't handle the long drive and the heat...plus the traffic!  I almost got killed about 3 times today on the ride home!!  The last one, I was about 10 car lengths behind the car in front of me, and they slammed on the breaks...and I had to slam on the breaks...thus starting my car on a very scary skid/swerve.

So when I got home, I was in tears from the pain and the bad week at work...my mom said we'd take my car in.  She may allow me to drive her car for awhile if we can't get my A/C fixed or it's too expensive.

Honestly, I'm waiting for myself to pass out from the heat while driving the car home one of these days!  blehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Carrie :)

I love October!!  Football season, cool weather, colorful leaves!  At Penn State, it used to start snowing in October - that's the only thing that I don't miss!  ;)

How do we clusterheads survive in this heat?  I hate it, and I'm usually always cold!!  LOL

Tiannia told you it was only going to be 108 in Vegas today.
What she didn't say was it is staying cool because of the cloud cover. Before the clouds moved in yesterday it's been hitting high record marks for the last 2 weeks. Every day 112 to 117. A couple of areas in town it been at 122. At my house the highest I've seen is 119. 100 degrees at midnight is not unusual here.
But, it sure beats the blizzards of Boston, the hurricanes of the Gulf area and the tornados in the middle.

Post by Lizzie2 on Jul 23rd, 2005, 5:55pm
I've been in my house all day today.  Nice A/C!  I feel better just being in the cool!

Apparently, there's some broken part on my Sable, and it's a special order, so they can't get it until Monday at the earliest.  It's required to run the A/C!  The part is about $100 and then there will be the repair costs....

But at least it'll have A/C again!!! :)

Phoenix

Authorities have attributed 21 deaths to heat in the past week, which was one of the hottest on record. The daily high temperature has topped 110 degrees 14 times during July so far. On many days, the temperature wasn't dropping below 100 until long after dark, often not until early the following morning.

Title: Re: How hot is it?
Post by Lizzie2 on Jul 24th, 2005, 1:28pm
The news here reported 11 deaths from the heat...I forget the time period though honestly.  I was only half-awake.

This weekend is beautiful - they did say that this coming week is going to be worse than it has been yet.   :o

Stay inside!!!!

I'm so glad the A/C is back working in the neonatal unit (that was broken after getting hit by lightning LAST weekend!)...and soon it will be up and running in my car!

They even had a special on the today show this morning on how to take care of your pets in the heat.  Yikes!!

Temp 103F / 39.4 celsius

Humidity 34% (that's real low around here)

Heat index 107F / 41.7 celsius

Wind 6 mph WSW

Not bad all in all. The humidity could be 70% or higher.

We're in the middle of a drought, and the corn and soybeans, which normally contribute to the humidity level greatly, aren't growing. The ground is powder dry. Even the weeds aren't growing.

Thank goodness for air conditioning!

Oh, and I can wait for winter... no rush on that.  ;;D

It may be hotter than Hades out right now, but my front porch is in the shade right now, and that lawn chair with the foot rest is calling my name.   I'll be there thinking about last weekend and attempt to not to get anything in my eyes as I relax a bit before I feed these two teen eating machines.

LOL Scott,

I took care of a baby on Friday who's temp was 35.9.

So his warmer had to go up a tad!

We have to keep them between like...36.4 and 37.2

Highest I had so far was one that was 37.9 I think!  Not good!

I've had isolettes at a wide range of temps....I think the one the other day was at 32.6 or so.

None of this tea shit though. I hate the stuff. Scones, maybe.

It's 88/343 or so? humidity 62%. Glad I live here though. The Great Lakes keep us below body temperature most of the time. They said today that this in the hottest summer this century.
