Title: Child support enforcement???? Post by mynm156 on Jul 20th, 2005, 7:16pm Hey gang I hope everyone who went had a great time in Dallas! While we were away I went to go visit the Child support enforcement Division here in Phoenix. Well get this. I have custody of my son. My ex is supposed to pay $88.00 a month. Well she hasnt payed about 4 years of child support. So I went to the state for help. Anyway It took them forever to get started and even when I gave them copies of the orders and such they first put ME down as being the one who hadnt been paying. Got that straightend out. Then they said they were filing papers in court for paternity testing! I said WHAT?! Its the mother, she was there!!!! We have an order we are divorced and you want to do genetic testing?! They have this screwed up! After I explain this the lady askes me ( What is it you want us to do?!) DUH!!!! She too stupid to live!! I Spent about 4 hours there trying to get then to understand I want the child support enforced and amended to a proper amount sence she now makes $30 bucks an hour. My ex knew we were hurting here lost my job and she's taking cruises and vacations to Sea World, Disney Land and Universal studios gets a new car. Anyway I know eventually I will get the last laugh and my son will get the support he deserves from his mother. anyway glad everyone is back sorry to vent I just had to laugh and tell ya all. GOOD VIBES your brother in pain MYNM156 She was only making $7.00 per hour back then and I made $16.00 per hour. She now has Multiple degrees and makes $30.00 and hour . Oh GET THIS!!! She had tha stones to ask me if she could claim our son on her taxes this past year. I nearly fell out of my chair. |

Title: Re: Child support enforcement???? Post by deltadarlin on Jul 20th, 2005, 7:48pm Give them 30 days to get their rears in gear and get the ball rolling. After that, start making phone calls, your senator, your representative, whoever you can call. The states (any of them) are notorious about being slow and some actually don't do jack until a fire is lit under their derrieres. If you need help, let me know, used to work with women in the same position as you are now (trying to get support owed to them). Carolyn~aka~deltadarlin |

Title: Re: Child support enforcement???? Post by Grandma_Sweet_Boy on Jul 20th, 2005, 8:11pm Dear God - it it had been the man owing $ to the custodial mother - they'd have slung your a$$ behind bars by now. What a travesty that is. How can you live with yourself as a parent when you make that kind of money and don't properly support your child. Can ya tell - that'd be one of my pet peeves! >:( Sorry to hear you're having to fight to get what should be rightfully given to your child. Hope you get it all sorted out. Carol |

Title: Re: Child support enforcement???? Post by BMoneeTheMoneeMan on Jul 20th, 2005, 9:13pm Yes, i agree, if the sexes were reversed, you owed your female ex support, you would have your license taken away in some states, and a garnishment in most states. If the man was self employed, they would put a lein on things like checking accounts and houses. Talk to supervisors, and go quickly up any chain of command they have there. Then, yes, go higher up. Be relentless, and be a pain in the ass. The more of a pain in the ass you are, and the dumber you make them look, they will want to get you out of their hair. It's a shame that your ex is such a deadbeat, sorry man. PF wishes BMonee |

Title: Re: Child support enforcement???? Post by Frank_W on Jul 20th, 2005, 9:17pm BMonee is right on the money. Anytime you deal with any government office, make a serious pain in the ass of yourself. Badger them, take down names and ask for the same person everyday when you call, let them know that you're holding them personally responsible for your case... In a way, treat it like a game and be determined that you aren't going to be the one who caves in. Keep on pouring the pressure on until they will do anything just to get you to leave them alone. It's sad that this is what it takes, but yeah... It IS what it takes! I could tell you a whole nightmare story of trying to get my wife's immigration stuff taken care of... What an ordeal... Anyway, chin up!! Hang in there, and sock it to 'em!! [smiley=thumb.gif] |

Title: Re: Child support enforcement???? Post by Charlie on Jul 20th, 2005, 11:44pm I agree. Be a pain in the ash. Another thing to harp on is "for the children." That's a hot button in these peculiar times. I realize everybody likes kids and all but that phrase is everywhere. Use it! Tell them you think that it looks bad for the state to be against the CHILDREN. "Do you like CHILDREN? Why are you giving the CHILDREN a hard time? What's the matter, don't you care for the CHILDREN? You must be on the side of CHILDREN." etc. Can't hurt. Good luck, Charlie |

Title: Re: Child support enforcement???? Post by forgetfulnot on Jul 21st, 2005, 1:26am When I made anywhere near that kind of money my payment to the state was $335.00 mo. I know that all states are different, but $88.00 seems like someones dream. Lee |

Title: Re: Child support enforcement???? Post by LeLimey on Jul 21st, 2005, 2:50pm I know how you feel. I've always had custody and my ex has never paid a penny in child support.. not a single one. The POS even went after ME for money! He has cost us a small fortune in legal fees then pissed off to live in Ohio where no doubt he will start the whole chain over again. He gets a pension from our government here and I know for a fact he is working there. I even know WHERE he is working and I can't do a damn thing about it. Bloody deadbeat parents of EITHER sex.. they just sicken me. I hope you gets yours sorted out asap Mynm. Its not fair |

Title: Re: Child support enforcement???? Post by Karla on Jul 21st, 2005, 4:29pm I think you have gotten some excellent advice here. Take down peoples names, talk to managers, don't be afraid to be assertive if they have things screwed up. I will pray that things turn around for your real soon. no one should have to go through this. |

Title: Re: Child support enforcement???? Post by mynm156 on Jul 22nd, 2005, 12:04pm I know I could have done this myself in the courts with or without and attorney. However, She can be such an unpleasant person its not beneath her to take it out on our son. So I went with the state on this so that everthing she gets is from the state and I can just say its outta my hands. |

Title: Re: Child support enforcement???? Post by LeLimey on Jul 22nd, 2005, 1:12pm Good for you Mynm.. I'm proud of you for protecting your son from more unpleasantmess. I sort of sense you would have sooner been able to tell her exactly what you thought but I'm impressed you had the restraint to put your child first. Well done! Lets hope some of your decency rubs off on deadbeat mom but somehow I doubt it.. pictures would be nice!! LOL |
