yes - i put in for it.

And I posted it ... and then i removed it cuz i didn't want to hijack Linda's thread.   And I thought I was kinda being a little whacko yesterday.

so - instead - i did the application, and decided to let it happen if it happens.

and - I think lizzie wants to do it in milwaukee...

both cities have major airports.

but - i'm scared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   :'(
I would need A LOT of help.   I dont know the FIRST thing about hosting no convention.

Seeing as Woobie and I are good friends, I do think that we two can host a convention without killing eachother (at least not until the convention's over)....

Milwaukee is a bit less expensive than Chicago and still has a major international airport...

We've chatted about it..... what'dya think, hon? Ya game?

Woobs, Rori would actually be doing all the legwork, making the arrangements, etc... You would be the local contact, and take care of a few local details.

1.   Milwaukee IS a lot cheaper than Chicago.  And I think that is IMPORTANT.  A lot of us dont have a lot of money to spend.

2.   I dont know jack sheeeeeeit about Chicago.   I just figured if I got this convention job - I would have to learn, real quick.

3.  If I did the convention - Lizzie would help me...
and If Lizzie did the convention - I would help lizzie.
So - either way - it doesn't matter.    

I dont know sheeeeeeeeit about Chicago OR Milwaukee.. so either way - LOL

But - I honestly think Milwaukee would be the better choice.   It's cheaper and there's an international airport.  Not to mention - the scenery up there is LOTS better.


I say --- Lizzie / Milwaukee........
and I'll help.

   As Chris has said...we have Rori(Lionsound ) to help now.  She is willing, able and very knowledgable about these things.   There really doesn't have to be any entertainment Tina and Liz...clusterheads have always been able to entertain  themselves and then of course there is always Chuck.

It would be WAY cool if it 'twas in Milwaukee.  Waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy cool. 8)  I'd even help Woobs & Lizzzzzzz out as much as possible.  I live about 3 hours from there, in central WI.  I could like, come a couple days early & do airport runs, errands, help set up, etc.

Oops, got to thinking about the wif's ass and forgot about the convention.
I would like to help out with it.  I can't be in charge, mainly cause i dont know if i will be in a cycle then.  When i am in cycle, it totally consumes my life, so i cant commit any real duties.  But i would go there to help set up, or to plan things and then would like to attend.

Woobs, and ASB. lionsound will be posting the actual duties the host(s) will be doing, and the things she, as the convention planner, will be responsible for. She will be making most of the arrangements, etc. But she will let you know.

Cedarburg has a very nice historical district with tons of shopping.  The winery there is awesome, I've been there.  Spent alot of time in that town a couple years back.

I have lived in Milwaukee all my life. If it is decided that that is where the convention will be, I'm sure there are some things that I can help out with. Lemme Know.

It's really nice to see all this excitement about hosting.

here's a little clarification to help:

The HOST will be my local liason..my eyes and ears in convention town. They will help mostly with LOCAL arrangements like scouting hotels, identifying local sponsors,  restaurants, hospitals, O2,transportation, things to do....they will probably meet with the hotel event staff if in person. I will help with all of this and make the actual  arrangements and  work with you.

As the convention planner I am responsible for solicitation of sponsors, and the convention adgenda and content speakers, meetings, banquet, auction,entertainment, etc.

The dates and location haven't been decided yet. The location will be decided in about two weeks. The dates will be worked out after that, due to other variables.

Heck, Stephanie posted a pic of my CHfEST on the Dallas pics post... so I don't see a reason to mind this.... just please don't comment about any lopsidedness you notice - it's not polite  :o

how about St. Louis, cheaper than both,new cardinal stadium next year. Four or five members that post here are from the area. Center of u.s.
