Since I can't go to the convention, I'm going to try and talk my wife into this.

Now there's an oxymoron. American food.... I hate the stuff. Well, there actually isn't any such thing unless you count smore's and spam.  ;;D

Give me Asian food or French food and I'll be happy.

I'd try it as long as it's not bland. I've been smoking for so long, I've got to have spicey food to be happy.

Could you give some examples of Finnish food?

No, not at all - we're tucked into a few hundred acres of woods here and variety of wild game is common table fare.

Squirrels are a lot of work but well worth it if cooked properly.  We do em' in Lemon/Pepper, Garlic & Sage and Garlic and Butter.  I do the cooking and my son's usually civilized friends seem to come from nowhere to eat em'.

Hunting them is a dying pastime for most in the U.S. so they've basically overrun the woods around here - we can usually harvest plenty during the season.  Rest assured they are smart little critters that quickly develop some tricky evasive maneuvers when they see what we're up to.
