Here's where I was over the week end.
A brand new camp ground with no trees, camp store, or pool. We baked all week end.

We came back in time to go to see a fireworks show and it rained all evening for the first time in a month. I still feel wet.

Cool pics, Pat. I'm glad you had a good time. How old is that flag? 17 stars... and still in good shape. I wish more people took care of their flags. I'm so tired of seeing dirty, torn and ragged flags hanging all over. :-[

Been a long time since school, but I believe the 17th sate was Ohio and Loiseanna was the 18th. Around 1812. Something to do with a war going on.
That flags in awful nice shape if its that old.

Very cool. This flag dates to admission of "Ohio (the 17th State on March 1st, 1803). http://www.usflag.org/history/the20starflag.html

That 17 star flag hangs in the museum in Battle Ground Indiana. This museum is at the battle site where the Battle for Tippecanoe was fought in late 1811. From what I understand, this is the battle that led the Indians (P.C. term - Native Americans) to fight against us in the War of 1812

It is an original and is in great shape. I was very surprised to see that it didn't have any kind of protection. It was just hanging against the wall. I actually walked up and touched it so I could look a little closer.

Most of them aren't meant to be washed; I understand. The results are often Red, Pink and Blue and the Annin Flag Co. thanks you.

Coots--it is a beer cooler strapped to the front of the Meyer Mobile. The other contraption is a fishing rod rack to hold my poles when I go surf fishing. That way I don't have to remove all the tackle and break down every rod when I move up/down the beach.

Thanx, Paul. They are wild horses found in Corolla and Corova on the outer banks of North Carolina. They visit frequently and the day I took this pic, the young fold took a nap in our yard.
